Merry Xmas fellow Zurich pilots!

Santa has smiled on us and if you pop over to Avsim you will see that an new updated version of the Freez scenery for Zurich has been released! They say there are lots of new textures for some of the buildings that were plain grey before and I'd say it's bound to be the best freeware Zurich available...

I'm downloading it now so I'll let you all know if it lives up to expectations...

I've tested the scenery and it's great!

The main areas that have changed are at the eastern end of the airport with the Cargo Centre, GA and Executive aviation areas being much more colourful and realistic now Tongue

So this is certainly the best freeware version of Zurich around Wink

I downloaded it and I absolutly love it. It is the best add-on scenery I ever had...you can even look inside the terminals and EVERYTHING you see on a real airport is there.

Hello everyone,

as Zurich is mu 'home' airport, I can concur with all of you that the level of detail and realism is extraordinary.
Everythin ghas been mapped out in keeping with the real thing and the end result is just marvellous.

Positively the best freeeware for Zurich.

Glad everyone agrees - this is great scenery Wink

For those of you who are interested, a visit to the Freez team's homepage is worthwhile - they've started updating it more regularly and will no doubt be looking for beta testers as they release ever more detailed versions... You can sign up for an e-mail newsletter too!

Looks nice Billy!

How exactly does AES work? Presumably you have to configure which aircraft you are using into the program so it knows where the exits are...

How friendly the scenery is for frame rate? I just downloaded it but need to be careful for my old laptop is very sensitive to sceneries.
Silly question: what AES stands for?
Happy New Year to you all.

And how do you get the gates at the doors of your aircraft 0.o

First of all, AES is a software tool by Aerosoft. I think, it's one of the best addon for the FS family. For me, it's the best ever, because it gives a different taste to the simulator. For more information, you can visit the site of Aerosoft.

The gates attach to the aircraft automatically, if you fly with well-known addon planes. But you can adjust the gates to any plane, thanks to a configuration tool included.

About the scenery; i have no idea, if it's frames-friendly. In my pc (Dual core with a nvidia gtx8800), everything goes smooth. But, it is very-well made and it's an AES supported.

 See you.....

Yet more developments at LSZH Tongue

You can now download a selection of different AFCADs for the Freez LSZH so you can choose to have AI traffic stopping before it crosses the runway and different approaches too!

Enjoy Wink

The newest version of Freez Zurich scenery has just been released - v 0.6! There is new runway and taxiway lighting plus other fixes so to make your LSZH as real as can be, download the latest version on Avsim or at the Freez site Tongue

I've just brought this topic here from the old Forum because I've discovered AES for myself and I'm hooked Smiley

For those who don't know, AES is Airport Enhancement Services from Aerosoft and it's a free download Wink You have to pay to unlock all the services at many payware airports but it does work for free with some high quality freeware airports like our very own Freez Zurich! And it is fantastic - you get an airport marshaller to help you park and push back, you get catering trucks and cleaning vehicles that drive up to your plane and rise to the level of the service doors and even the jetway moves to your boarding door and the rubber seal attaches to the plane to stop your passengers getting wet! I'm amazed at the detail and it works for free at our Hub Smiley

There are photos earlier in this thread to give you a taste and if you like detailed and busy airport activity then I really recommend you try this out Wink

Have fun!
