[EHM-0654 Murray]

Just a quick bit of guidance for everyone. In this lovely new forum software, there are two names that are important:

• The account user name - this is the value you use in the login box. For users from our old forum this will be in the form "EHM-XXXX Firstname", but for new users joining the VA, to make it easier for you, us and the website once we start making changes, we'd like you to use just your four digit permanent callsign (the "XXXX" bit). If you are a new pilot that hasn't yet been issued with a permanent callsign, please use your temporary callsign, and contact a member of the management team once you've been assigned your permanent callsign. For members joining from external organisations, please use any value you wish for your account user name.
• The account display name - this is displayed on your posts and identifies you to other members. For users migrated from the old forum, this will be identical to your account user name ("EHM-XXXX Firstname") and we'd like it left that way. For new users joining the VA, we'd like you to use the "EHM-XXXX Firstname" format as well (it help everyone identify everyone else, and it makes MT's life easier when we need to look things up on the website and/or database for you). For members joining from external organisations, please use either you full name ("Gareth Richardson"), or your organization designation ("IVAO GB-DIR") as your display name.

As mentioned above, those of you that had accounts on the old forum have the same username and password on the new forum, so there's no excuse for not joining in (is there? )

NOTE: VA Management reserves the right to delete accounts and/or make changes to account display names of members who do not follow these naming guidelines. It's in everyone's best interests that we all adhere to them. Thank you.

Avatar Images

These are built every six hours (starting at 00:00Z) for all pilots. To use your EHM avatar image in the forum, go into your PROFILE, and select Forum Profile Information under Modify Profile in the left hand menu. Select the "I have my own pic" radio button, then in the text field to the right of there, enter:

Signature Images

The signature images are also built every six hours (starting at 00:00Z). To use your EHM signature image in the forum, go into PROFILE, and select Forum Profile Information under Modify Profile in the left hand menu. In the Signature text box down at the bottom of the page, enter:

In an effort to deal with spammers and the like, at some point in the near future we'll be having a "cull" of zero-post accounts, and especially those with incorrectly formatted names.

If you don't want to loose your account as a result of this action, ensure you have a correctly (display) named account and/or have posted something.

If you have zero posts and are not otherwise active (logging in on a monthly basis to read posts at the least), your forum account *will* be deleted!
