Best freeware scenery?

(1/2) > >>

EHM-1199 Philip:
Having just responded to a scenery thread I thought I'd start one of my own.

What is your favourite piece of freeware scenery?

I used to go for the surrounding area scenery and the Balearic scenery available from I think flightsim.com was therefore great.

Now however my tastes have moved on and I enjoy the well designed airports more.

Personal favourites are:
Suisse 2004 - A really superb series of airports in Switzerland that brings the world to life.
Real CDG - Paris Charles De Gaulle in great detail and not too framerate heavy.
Essa - the superb Stansted available from flightsim.com - this one has astonishing detail right up to the gate.
and finally my personal favourites of the moment ...

Anything from ISD - Italian Scenery Design group - there Milano is superb.

So, what do others think - what's the best piece of freeware scenery that you currently have installed?:>

EHM-1343 Jonathan:
I agree on two counts, Real Charles De Gaulle by FS France and ISD, especialy Rome Fiume!

I also am a great fan of Bill Melichars scenery of Hawaii, Tahiti and the surrounding islands. He has created many scenery projects!
All of these products are great on FPS!;D

EHM-1358 Tim:
Not freeware, but any FlyTampa products are just great! Well worth the money.

EHM-1459 Jonny:
Can we start a small discussion space where we can post and find various freeware sceneries for European airports. I cannot seem to find any good ones that do not drop my FPS for Europe. Also I am curious as to what people have in the way of AI, I have most of PAI's planes but I am looking to expand a bit more.

Thanks a Million,
Jonny

EHM-1199 Philip:
A good place to start for any airports is:

However hosting and posting raises far too many issues IMHO as authors still 'own' scenery even if copyright and there are often rules about distributing.
