Microphone problems

I have been using online softwear now for about 2 months and my Mic was working fine, now wen i am either flying or controlling when i go to speak to otha ppl tell me there is a really loud background noise and they cnt hear me. i havetn changed ne settings so i do not understand how this cud happen, can ne one help?

Might be due to a bad sound card/MB, bad mic or a plug not inseted well.
