It\'s hard to become a 3D computer graphist

EHM-0962 Zhen Yi:
How true......since i started modelling (or rather trying to model) last year the sceneries i've produced are of such poor quality that i had to trash them all.......still working on it though.....but there's still a long way to go before i can officially release something.......

EHM-1077 Emanuele:
Never give up, never surrender!

Start small and slow, you'll pick up speed along the way!

do you guys use a public software or a special software to design the graphics

EHM-1539 Pierre:
3D software are rarely free.
The main ones are discreet 3D Studio Max, Alias Wavefront Maya, Softimage XSI, Newtech Lightwave...

I work in a company that uses (mostly) Maya for 3D and Shake for compositing.
They definitely do not fall in the public software category but you can download
a free Maya Personal Learning Edition on:

http://www.alias.com/glb/eng/products-services/product_details.jsp?productId=1900003

It's functionally the same but it will put some pretty unisghtly watermarks
all over the places, so that you can't actually make money out of it, only
learn it.

I don't know if Shake has similar offers as I only do 3D.

Ciao ciao!
