Commissioned programming

(1/1)

EHM-0654 Murray:
Here's a strange question for any programmers in the VA that have registered FSUIPC.

In recent discussions on a number of other simpit forums I participate in I've been thinking out loud about how to emulate tiller/nosewheel steering for 'pit builders (given FS2004 has just one "rudder" control for both).

It occurs to me that using full FSUIPC it might be possible to programmatically switch between a pair of controllers or axis for "rudder", so you'd have one axis/controller for rudder while on the ground and below 30kts GS, and then you'd automatically switch to a second axis/controller above 30kts and/or in the air , using a software wedge (unless Pete Dowson thinks it's a brilliant idea and adds it to a future version of FSUIPC)

If there are any programmers out there with a spare couple of hours just to "proof of concept" this idea, it'd be most welcomed.

Well, according to Mr. Dowson, apart from the automated switch over from one controller to the other, you can already do this in FSUIPC (both axes/controllers will remain active...)

So, forget I ever mentioned this... ;D
