New online network
EHM-1546 Nuno:
GlobalSim are dissidents from IVAO Dutch division, even though they're entitled to build a new network I don't see what benefits this could bring to the online community which is already split between IVAO and VATSIM.
EHM-1366 Themis:
Agree!
Many networks are being created at times but I don't see the use of it. Like the sky is one, the same way there should be one1 network for online flying so that everyone, from the most experienced to the newbe could fly together --> this IS as real as it gets!
Safe Landings to all :)

Witch networks?? IVAO, Vatsim FPI and Globalsim are the only 4 networks who are working global online.
There are many other networks but they are related to a VA or private sim-flight club and trying on there own way to make online flying usefully for there members.

Instead of splitting the community, there should be only one big network. Maybe IVAO will accomplish that someday

If you know a little about the past then you will be happy that there is more then 1 network, this has to do with behaviour off some people on each off the networks. (In special staff and supervisors).
If there is only 1 network probably you are now paying for the use off it (IVAO).
Read the forums on these networks! There is happening a lot more than you can think off.(including the removed posts)

If you look carefully to the network use and read the forums on these networks
I noticed that sometimes if there is heavy traffic especially in west-Europe, the lack off good ATC and supervisors who are yelling to pilots you can imaging that many pilots and ATC have no fun and going to other networks.
And if you look to network use it’s increasing so there is potential room for only a third network
The third can be FPI or Globalsim one off them will not survive, or both will die.
O and peer to peer you can do that also on vatsim with FSinn the best peer to peer piloot client there is.
My conclusion
Many EHM pilots are flying offline, and the pilots who are flying online are on Vatsim or IVAO, so I don’t see any advantage to fly on third network, it’s also not good and confusing to potential Euroharmony pilots who will go online.

EHM-1366 Themis:
Willem,
I fly with IVAO (only) since 2002 and till recently I was member to some FS mailing lists, and therefore I have a crystal clear view of what's happening with the networks, especially the Greek Divisions.
I agree with you that there are misbehaviors from staff but that is something wrong and must be corrected, it doesn't mean that people would not be more realistically flying if there was only one network. Like in real life there are bad ATCs and good ATCs, everyone is rated and either stays or leaves. That means "as real as it gets"
As for the four networks you mentioned, there are not the only ones. As you mentioned too, there are many small networks created by VA's to train their pilots etc.
I was participating in such a fighting squadron where all our 72 members where flying in a private network because we could not do formations in IVAO, neither VATSIM. This was a real problem, because we were cut out from the rest of the "flying world".
Aren't there times when there is not a single soul online??? Whouldn't it be better if these 72 pilots where flying on a network with other pilots??? The same for all other pilots of VAs who fly on private networks... :o
I think it is time to mature a bit in this issue and realize what is the best for all;) I don't care which network will stay, that's not my point, although I have some prefferences, but all I want to spot is that, as the sky is one, also the network should be only one.
Safe landings :)
EHM-1617 Iain:
My take is like this:
It's good to have choice. I chose IVAO over VATSIM for the more ATC in West Europe, although perhaps not the UK. Sure, it would be great if they could be combined but...
FS Handbook, Genesis Chapter 1 (Fictional)
In the beginning, there was nothing. On the first day, He made SATCO. And it was good. But then SATCO turned nasty. Adam said "I want it to be as realsitic as possible... even if some people suffer for the necessary strictness". Eve said "I think we should strive for realism... but not if that means people's feelings are heart in the process."
Adam went to make VATSIM. He made it good. It was realsitic, but the environment was a little less friendly.
Eve made IVAO. It was also good. Perhaps it was not as realistic, but it was a friendly atmosphere.
Meanwhile, SATCO fell apart.
Since then, the divisions between the two primary networks have become so great that a merger is totally out of the question (even if desirable). Anyway, I like the choice it gives, being able to decide on your own path.
