EHM-1500 Jim:
I got another penalty for not resetting my altimeter above 18000ft?? This is what i do(PMDG) - set altimeter to HMG rather that In ie 1013. Then set it to local qnh eg 1018. Take off, climb etc - press std on centre of altimeter knob when passing transition altitude to set to 1013 again - just for good measure press B when passing 18000 - did this tonight and still got a penalty?? What am i doing wrong? Cheers for any suggestions guys, Jim
EHM-0948 Bruno:
Hi Jim,
Start pressing B some feets before the FL180 ... that's how I do it and works.
Regards,
EHM-1328 Willem:
By pressing B you set it back to 1018, on PMDG set by hand to 1013 or 29.92 before passing FL180 and PMDG will do the rest.
After FL180 PMDG shows std 29.92 or 1013, and presseing the B has no effect anymore, until after descent below FL180
This works only on PMDG !

:$little trick, after passing FL100 switch off landinglights and set altim, to 29.92.( dont push B after setting)
EHM-0948 Bruno:
Hi,
Willem the B is not to set it to 1018. The "B" sets the altitude for the corresponding qnh value at that altitude. For instance, if I press "B" on ground, it will calibrate my qnh setting to the value given by the nearest weather station.
After FL180 flight simulator doesn't look for that qnh value and assumes that you already passed the Transition Level, so it will always show the standard qnh value.
You set the 1013 value when you pass the transition level, not on FL100. But if you are flying offline, than forget this last message ;D
Correct me if I am wrong please.
