Euroharmony ETOPS

(1/1)

EHM-1651 Christian:
Are there any ETOPS(Extended Twin Operations)regulations on euroharmony flights, counld not find anything about this in Operation Manual, was just wondering because of route planning for the transatlantic flights with the 757 and the Tu-204's

EHM-1001 Robert:
EuroHarmony got the 180 minutes clearance from the authorities for these birds, so you can safely fly them over the Ocean ;)

EHM-1651 Christian:
Ok just wondering, some airlines operates with an 120min ETOPS

EHM-1001 Robert:
Just seen a B767 cockpit video, where the captain described in detail, when they cross the Atlantic from London, they are 145 minutes far from any airports, and they have a 180 minutes clearance. So, we need the same clearance to cross the Atlantic, but also he told, 180 minutes is the maximum.

If we had only 120 minutes we probably could not cross the Atlantic ;)

EHM-0005 Maarten:
180 minutes is the maximum for the B767 at this moment. If tests prove that this period can be extended, then the authorities can aprove this.

An example of this can be found at Boeing's website:

They are currently testing a 330 minutes ETOPS
