EHM-0654 Murray:
Well, looking at those amazing screenshots all I can think is:
Pan, Pan, Pan! We have an engine out due to bird strike!
;D
EHM-1358 Tim:
FSX will be backwards compatable with FS2004 products, and will run on WinXp, but optimised from Vista and DirectX 10.
EHM-1798 Conrad:

I guess i will update my computer too:]
But that will be very expensive. I am sure we need a new Windows or Linux version a new graphics card for runing MSFSx:%

I can't see a Linux machine being ideal as it looks like it will be the Windows Vista flagship game.... Glad they have announced XP compatibility though. I got my fingers burnt jumping in to Windows 2000 so I can't see me updating to Vista until it has been out for at least 6 months.
I suppose we should really prepare for a Q1 2007 luanch as that Christmas deadline will undoubtedly get pushed back.

Well after a little more research there isn't much other info yet, but I think this is the most detail I could find on the Flight Simulator Insider website:

There is also a link on this site to the full speech by Bill Gates and Microsoft that announced FSX and opened the CES in Las Vegas, very interesting, especially the desktop Display he demo'd, that would be great for us Flight Sim fanatics! Take a look here: (btw, there is a long intro on this movie and it is about 1hr20m long, maybe just skip forward to the bit where bill gates comes on stage after 10 minutes or so)
