Maintain altitude

EHM-1612 Paolo:
Hi pilots,
when I usually do long flights I often teave my pc for 7 or more hours. When I leave the pc I check all the flight isntruments. During last flight I noticed that my altitude was when I left the pc of 32000ft; after it was 38000ft. Why do manyl aircraft ( I noticed it on Boeing 777-200LR and on many other small and big aircrafts)  often do this? How can I correct this problem? On long flights I use FS AP.
Thanks all,
Paolo Mazzoleni EHM-1612

EHM-1798 Conrad:
well dont forget when the pressure changes, the alitude changes, but i dont think that is your problem.

Im not entirely sure what would make the FS AP do that, havnt used it for ages......

The only thing i can thing off is certain waypoints may have altitude settings, but i dont think the normal FS AP can do that....

EHM-1343 Jonathan:
Did you use the PSS T7 or our Meljet 777...
Because if you used PSS, as Conrad said, one of the waypoints in the Flight Plan, may be after the top of descent!

other than that, its a mystery ;D

EHM-1798 Conrad:
one of lifes funny things, i remember the days when FS AP used to suddenly decide it had enough at an altitude and just shot up at about 40 degrees pitches and stalled and crashed lol!

Glad i no longer use FS AP!

Message to the poster - Life is full of misteries!

EHM-1612 Paolo:
Thanks for answers pilots but it's very strange. Yesterday I tried to use the FS AP in a different way and I noticed an other problem: when I get to the right altitude, the Vertical speed pilot continues going on +60m per min and -50m and the aircraft is like a wave that continues going up and down once a sec.....it's very strange maybe I will start using a different AP.
Thanks all,
Paolo Mazzoleni EHM-1612
