Something that has never been exploited
so far at EHM, is the possibility to use
Gmax not only to build new planes models
but also to create new frame-rate friendly
scenary, either EHM related or simply
related to the area you are interested in.
It could be a monument/building in your
area, an hangar at one of EHM's hub or
anything that you fancy and it's appropriate
to be part of the landscape in Flight Simulator.

And how should these models be recognized or inserted in FS? AFCAD maybe, or some other compilers? If U have any knowledge about it Manu, I would like to hear it... I have experience in making game-ready models, but conversion was done by client, depending on the engine game uses.
If inserting custom objects in FS is no fuss, than hey, we'll have all our hubs marked! For a start...

Cheers

EHM-1001 Robert:
Technically, every 3D object is a BGL file with real world coordinates. If you put it into your main scenery folder, it will appear in the game undependent to what kind of main sceneries you use.

BGL files are export from by a kind of "codec".

Hi there Robert,
I am just reading gmax sdk reference at msn, as well as some other articles about implanting custom objects and models into FS.
BGL is about traffic, I think, MDL is about scenery or any other.

I am still reading, though, and trying to learn more about it.
Thanks

EHM-1077 Emanuele:
Dejan, just noticed your post.
I don't know the specifics of how to import Gmax scenary models
into FS. I just know it's possible and sounds like you are looking
exactly where I'd look to find such information.

Ciao ciao!

Manu

EHM-1001 Robert:
MDL contains only aircraft model, while BGL contains scenery object/object group, that is why this extension also attached to AI traffic objects/routes too.
