Embraer 170 Navigational radio
« on: April 11, 2006, 02:46:23 pm »
I like the model of the Embraer 170 and if I could only get the Nav radio to work then it would be my plane of choice at the moment.
However, the Nav radio at the bottom of the screen just doesn't do anything when clicked. When I press 'N' the numbers highlight yellow but still don't seem to be adjustable. Does anybody know how to tune the NAV radios on this Embraer?

Hi!

Open in favourite texteditor (wordpad, notepad, etc) the embraer 170 aircraft.cfg file, and insert next lines. Hope usefill hints added.

[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1       = 1
Com.1         = 1, 1
Com.2         = 1, 1
Nav.1         = 1, 1, 1
Nav.2         = 1, 1, 0
Adf.1         = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1      = 1

It is a returning question, but it is not a real bug.

Because MS designed the plane with only 1 panel. The radio settings are panel dependant. If you find a panel with standby-active choice, then you need the addition given by Tamas. If you have a not so real panel, with only active frequencies, than the attached CFG must be enough.

It always depends on the panel you use with the aircraft model ;)

Thanks for this. I haven't tried it yet but I'm not sure if this is the solution as those lines are already present in the cfg. Do I add them again or is this a different problem.
I have checked the Dream Wings files on this Embraer and it claims that SHIFT+2 brings up the radio stack. On the additional panel I installed from the EHM site this is not the case. SHIFT+2 brings up the GPS in this case. I'm wandering if this is the problem. The radio is visible at the bottom of the screen but as I stated, it seems impossible to change frequency.

HI Phil,

I am sorry I did not red your post ... Well, it sounds to be a different problem. But it is totally different again at each panel, that Shift+XX combination which subpanel activates. It depends on the programmer's taste.
