I think the short answer to that one is a "no."

Hey Andy!

I thought it would have been ok to fly the flights in the same aircraft but different livery, even offline... it's not like anyone's going to see this! I suppose you'd better stick with the rules though, so as not to upset anyone!

By the way, nice username ;)

I understand where you're coming from Andy, it is nice to have a change of scenery. I'm really looking forward to the new liveries coming out, they look great.

Happy landings!

Ben, I can agree with you that if you fly totally offline, meaning you don't even use the flightlogger. Then no one is going to know if you use a ehm A320 or a Jetblue, Lufthansa or whatever. So in that way it's more a question of your own sence of right and wrong. I guess it goes without saying that there ain't that many airlines that would accept their pilot flying in another airlines aircrafts, just to get a change of scenery. If we where to okay this, then I would think it would undermine the great job that Robert are doing. Then we wouldn't have any reason change our liveries, becuase you just use any A320 or B738 you felt like. I know it's not what you or Andy had in mind. But all I'm saying is if this was okayed by the MT then we would move into a dangerous area. Because then the next thing people would ask for is to use another model of aircraft, but still with in the same class.

Hi,

I subscribe what Karsten said.

Also, that is written on the Operations Manual. You always (online, offline, whatever) use the EuroHarmony airplanes (or payware with EHM liveries) when you are flying a EHM flight.

Ultimately ... the system can be cheated. But why would you. Surely, the purpose of belonging to the VA is to give that extra feeling of belonging to something bigger than just you, your PC and your sim. If you don't fly the EHM planes then that feel surely partly goes. You would be on the fringe ... no submitting screenies to chat about, no discussing the eccentricities of specific aircraft ... in short you'd be back to the lonely 'you, your PC, your sim' hobby and not a part of the bigger picture. Just an opinion. :)

What you could do is pretend it's a shared flight, like if BA uses one of Lufthansas planes (It happens to me sometimes when I go on Croatia Airlines, because they're expensive, and they've made deals with CSA to keep them alive)

This could add a whole new dimension to flight sim Matt. If you want to fly with EasyJet livery would you have to wait an extra couple of hours at departure while they found a plane to service this euroharmony route?

Please don't get me wrong chaps its not that i would  want to fly every flight in a model other than EHMs but just occasionally it would be nice to give those other aircraft a run out.I used to belong to Livewire airlines and they would allow you the choice of there own fleet of aircraft or any you wanted provided it was of similar performance IE if it was an airbus320 flt you could fly any airbus320 of any livery or say a boeing737/400 what you could not do was take that flight in a 747 or beechcraft 1900.Anyways if you are supposed to fly EHM planes then  will.
cheers Andy
PS you could say well fly the others on a non EHM flight, but i like too fly for the VA as it does add that  extra feeling of purpose to your flights.

well, it seems to work out in real life. It went like this. Croatia Airlines had a CSA Plane in the airport. They got that plane, and used it for our flight. I think that's how it worked out, so I'm saying like you could pretend that there were no EuroHarmony planes, but we had a deal with Easy Jet, so we use their plane for the flight instead.

It does sound a bit bizzare, but it is virtual, so then we have a choice. In Virtual, you can do stuff that the real world can't do, and the other way round, so it comes to a decision. Should we say this is just a computer game, and do stuff that is a bit different, or should we try our best to act like real life pilots?
I can't make the decision, because I don't mind the EuroHarmony planes, so I don't really care, but I think that's the choice.
