FSX Demo - Coming soon!!!
EHM-0654 Murray:
Here's a link to my torrent of it...
http://webmail.liquidthinking.co.uk/~murray/fsxprereleasedemo.exe.torrent
Isn't seeded yet (having problems connecting to the tracker...) but should work peer-to-peer ok. It'll be up until I get home :)
NOTE: In a quick test from work, there are 2 seeds and a load of peers for this demo, so get it before MS close it all down.

I am very impressed by the screens...the trees for one look a big improvement....and i also like the new interface...
EHM-1821 Javier:
Thanks for the links! that one from microsoft, is downloading 15times faster than the one from gamespot;D
EHM-1152 Thomas:
I downloaded from fileshack. Took just half an hour. And what can I say. I am very impressed! You know that feeling when you get something new and you just want to press all the buttons and see what happens? Well that is what FSX does! There are so many new things. The cars and boats moving about really add realism to it and the cockpit and vc are incredibly detailed. Also the updated ATC screen seems easier to use. And for anybody worried about it working on their system I am using a 6 month old laptop and it ran fine. Just as well as FS9 actually. The only bad thing about playing the demo is that part of me is disappointed going back to FS9 and I don't want to wait for months to buy the full version!

Observations from my install/setup:
With similar settings, I'm getting similar frame rates, but FSX looks nicer at those similar settings.
With everything but weather maxed out, and Clear Skies chosen, it runs (frame rates feel better than 5fps...) but only just. As long as I point it over water rather than land it ticks over nicely ;)
And having never been to Princess Julianna, think I'll be flying there tomorrow in my FS2K4 setup... Did the visual approach on the second attempt (tried it last night, but that was before I reset all the controllers, so my joystick and yoke were fighting for control of the ailerons and elevators, making aircraft control "interesting"), but for some reason the brakes are locked on in FSX (made roll out easy though...)
