This may be a very silly question, but I do feel the need to ask it so bear with me here. :$

At the moment I'm flying from KATL to VHHH (Hong Kong) in an A340, But I have a feeling that I'm not going to have enough fuel to complete the flight! Are all the flights on the EHM timetable possible without stopovers to refuel? I'm flying at FL360 at IAS Mach 0.82. I think this is in the advised range for long distance flights for this aircraft. I started the flight with 345016 lbs of fuel. Is this the maximum fuel the aircraft can hold? I just used the default FS fuel load because I assumed the aircraft would be fully fuelled.

Sorry if these are stupid questions but I'm worried I'm going to drop out of the sky like a dart. :[

Hi,

I am not flying class 7, so I can't tell you anything based on experience.

However, I took a look at the statistics for this flight and I saw that this flight hasn't been done for EuroHarmony main division yet, but for EuroHolidays it was. See it here: http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/site/manu/flightstats2.php?id=H1154

You can see that the Boeing MD-11 used 230299 lbs on this flight. I hope for you that the A340 does not have a very high fuel flow :)

Chris.

I'm sorry but you may have to ditch unless you get a really good tail wind or drop your speed.

The range of the A340-600 is maxed out at 7900nm, of course you need to fly 8400nm and that's if you flew directly between the two airports without following airways etc...... I'm not saying it can't be done, it depends on your passenger/cargo load etc, but if you are fully loaded then you may want to say a prayer or two!!!!

This said, so long as you watch your consumption and measure your speed to match it, I think you might make it but you will need to be very alert and have an alternate picked out for a refuel stop about 1000nm short of your planned route. (It will really depend on the winds and weather)

Good luck.

Well you shold make as long as you stay within the recomended LR cruise speed of mach 0,83 and between FL340-370 the reange given for the Md-11 is 6800nm

using the Freeware A345 (repaint by robert) combined with pss panel, works like a treat!
