I\'m still flying!!
EHM-0654 Murray:
Those of you that haven't flown C883 yet, can I humbly suggest you *DON'T* use ActiveSky for the weather (if you intend flying it in the, ooh, next 12 hrs). In the real world (according to IVAO and Jeppessen), the weather is reasonable; bit of cloud, light wind, but no more. AS has dropped a vast thunderstorm over Kigali again, feck all visibilty and really intense rain.
EHM-1617 Iain:
Absolutely sound advice there that I can second. In my ignorance of course I tried it :D
164m visibility on departure made for an interesting takeoff. Arrival weather was not so bad... or at least it seemed that way. As I got nearer, visibility worsened to <1000m and I couldn't make the visual approach. I diverted back to Kigali and shot the ILS and then re-attempted the flight with AS's VATSIM weather and it was much more manageable.
C884 should be OK with the VATSIM weather as well - I just completed it - although there is cloud and icing at FL350+ (I cruised FL310).
EHM-1883 Matt:
Well, I also crashed too. It was mainly my fault. Took off with too much fuel, overshot the runway, and crashed into a building. Not too good, so enjoy the rest of the tour everybody!
EHM-0948 Bruno:
Hi,
you have a new airplane Matt.
We will give one spare airplane to everyone. Just send me an email.
Regards.
EHM-1998 Steven:
Thanks for the heads up, Murray. I've encountered some pretty nasty wx via Active sky on this event early on. I'm really having a blast. I'm not sure I would have ever tried some of these landing had I not been in this event. Truly a challenging event!!
