I must say Robert, I was very impressed with how professional our store looked; who made the brochures?

Well Robert made the Brochures, the flyers and the Livery! I think he is the only guy who did any work! :) hahahaha Just a shame he didnt get to join us, maybe next year!

Well the first day of the exhibition is over, It was quite busy, I think many people were looking to buy presents for themselves as virtually everyone either had a "ButtKicker" or a set of Saitek Rudder pedals under their arms! We did get quite a few people pay an interest in the VA and I hope that a few will take the time to join up and see what we have to offer.

From EuroHarmony we had a quite good showing with Conrad Oldcorn and Ben Horsfall manning the IVAO stand. Murray Crane, Christian Bakke, Dominic Mahon, Trevor Bolton, Matt Haywood and myself were at the stand at different points throughout the day!

I didn't really get much chance to look around myself, which is probably a good thing as I would have spent way too much money! :)

For those of you coming on Sunday, I look forward to meeting you and I hope to shake hands with a few more of you! I am sure Murray, Christian and myslef will be spending a little more time looking round and perhaps picking up an early Christmas present on Sunday though! I promise, I will take a few more shots of some of the other stands and let you know a bit more about the exhibition over the next day or so!

Cheers,
Phil Nutt EHM 1703

Really enjoyed it and a great opportunity to meet a few faces from the VA! Plus I picked up some great cockpit DVD's and the Angle of Attack 767 training DVD so I've got lots to watch... ;D

Can't wait for the new fleet to come out as it gives me just the excuse I need to fly some of the planes I haven't been in for a while...:P

The EHM stand was very good, especially in comparison to some of the other VA's present so well done to all the MT who worked so hard to present a really professional image of our airline!

I'm sorry that I didn't have enough time to talk to you Phil, but I was talking to Dom alot, and we had a really great chat about ATR's etc.

I'm still wondering how Murray knew I was Matt!

In the MT we know everyone. It's useless to run or hide, we'll find you! Just kidding ... ;)

Good to see that it was a big success and I really hope to be there next year!

Well i would have liked to spend more time at the EHM stand and actually looking at other stands, but i was stuck controlling EGTM_S_CTR with around 20 aircraft constantly in my frequency :D

So thats 12 hours in total? :P

Next year it takes place in the Birmingham NEC again... - until then :)

So it will be an annual event in Europe? Will EuroHarmony have another stand?

Matt,

My mum's a witch and I inherited the knack... ;)

Truth is I'm pretty good with voices (except my own... I realised today I sound just like my dad on the phone) and that's how I guessed it was you.

And re my t-shirt, I only wish I'd taken another as well when one of the guys from the Microsoft stand walked up and said "do you think I could get one of those with a Micro$oft logo?" - my "It's not my fault you suck!" shirt ;D

And for those that would like an unbiased opinion, apart from a couple of things, I am *so* not upgrading to FSX any time soon (think a year or more).

Finally, any of you that are new to the VA as a result of the show, glad we didn't put you off... :) Welcome, ask questions, participate, but most of all, *have fun* (and that's an order!)

Umm, don't think I'm going to be breaking any confidence if I say almost certainly not. I'll let Phil vent his spleen on the subject, once his good lady wife permits him to rejoin the community. We *might* have a presence at a couple other shows (no promises, and I'm going to otherwise keep quiet about that) but there's pretty much no way we'll be at IFC Europe next year.

Ok Guys, I've escaped from the wife...... She has her TV back now (The 32 inch LCD on the stand was her TV! :) ) so I have managed to escape for a while......

I haven't spoken to any of the MT regarding the show yet, I have come here straight away to post about the IFC so you can all hear what I have to say.

As those of you who visited the IFC wil know, the costs involved with this years stand really didn't warrant the return we will get from it. If we do go next year, and its a big if, it will be on a smaller VA stand at a much smaller cost.

I don't know the official numbers that visited and I doubt I ever will, but it was certainly less than I expected so to say I was a little dissapointed is an understatement. Sunday (today) was a complete wash out with very few people paying any more than a passing interest in our VA.

The one thing it did allow us to do was meet a lot of people from the FS community and get our name out there. I doubt very much that we will see a massive surge of pilots, maybe half a dozen at the most.

It was great to meet those of you who visited, thanks for your support and the effort you all put in!

As for next year, well who knows???? I think I am going to visit the FS Weekend in Holland next November so if anyone fancies meeting up, lets make some plans a bit nearer the time!
