FS2004 Tweaking to 45 fps!
EHM-1001 Robert:
Well, I downloaded the "dotnetfx3.exe" from a software site, and it was called "pre-release final version".
But really, no improvement in FPS at me !
EHM-1486 Ricardo:
Should I remove version 2.0 too, or just version 1.1?
EHM-1798 Conrad:
Just 1.1 i think.
EHM-1617 Iain:
Thanks for this! I have gained about 3-4 FPS all over. Along the same lines, check this Windows XP Optimisation guide for general system optimisation - this gained me about 5 FPS, but I realise now that my PC was in a total mess before I used it.

I have the .NET framework 3 installed, but I have never before removed the old versions :$. I'd always been warned away by M$' persistance that 'removing this program may stop other programs from functioning correctly'. Guess the new version is intended to replace the old version :$ Thanks, will try it out.
EDIT: I have sucessfully removed .NET 1.1, but Bill Gates is being very insistent that I should not remove .NET 2.0. Is he right?

Hello Iain,
you should not remove the "old" .NET Versions since .NET Framework Versions is not to be replaced by newer Versions!
There are programs written for 1.1 and newer programs written for 2.0 - so it is normal to have several versions of .NET on your system.
FS is not written on .NET and runs independent of it so .NET Framework does not have any influence on FS - maybe there are some other applications (i.e. Active Sky) that benefit from the new .NET version and that causes the frame increase in Flight Simulator.
Cheers,
