EHM-1001 Robert:
Well, I flew the 2nd leg yesterday on the MelJet model, and I also misscalculated the fuel, but in the other direction.

On a 80% range distance, I filled 80% fuel, and almost the half left...I guess because of the massive tailwind, and the low amount of payload.

EHM-1821 Javier:
i had fuel problems with the meljet too, i didnt encounter any winds more than 5kts during cruise until i closed in to Malaysia, i carried 9 hours worth of fuel, calculating from the FS Flightplan Navigation Log, however, i was forced to save fuel and slow down seeing that i may not have enough fuel. around 1hr+ maximum on the amount of fuel i had on engine shutdown... :s

EHM-1001 Robert:
Hi Javier,

I would never rely on FS fuel planning. It is much better if you check your takeoff weight, and browse a Boeing manual to guess the needed fuel. What I used to do is, fill the fuel percentage according to the distance. For a 50% range distance I fill 50% fuel. That is not very accurate, but I never got into trouble with this easy expression.

EHM-1821 Javier:
Hi Robert, thx for the advice, i'll go look up some 744 stuff on the boeing website:)

EHM-WN4N Per-Kristian:
Do i have to wait until 19th of March to start out from Melbourne or can i just continue flying regardless to Start dates?
