I agree with you Robert, the heavier the aircraft, the more careful you got to be during approach to land. I have always noticed that with jet engines, the plane takes a while to spool up power, this lag could be enough time to pick the clothes from the buildings clothe-lines, or trim some trees along the way .....

All gauges, except Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 9 are from Glenn Copeland. You can download them from AVSIM. Just go to Search and type his name. This gentleman has developed a lot of extremely helpful gauges that serve as copilots. Easy to install and understand. I wrote about it in this forum some time ago.

No. 1 is the Altitude Alerter. I use it to remind me for turning lights off and on when passing 10000 and also to set the Transition Altitude to get the local QNH.
BTW, last week I asked Glenn whether he could develop something like this but for speed. This will help us to keep the 250kts speed below 10000. He promised that he will look at it after Holidays.
No. 5 is the Descentometer. It helps to start the descent to reach a pre-determined altitud.
No. 6 is the SALS (Satellite Added Landing System). It will help in landing in those runways without an ILS.
No. 7 is the ARM system that deploys the spoilers and set the reversers after the nose touches the runway during landing. There are two variations: ARM_1 for twin engines and ARM_4 for three and four engines.
No. 8 is the 4th Hand. It raises and lowers the gear at pre-selected time after takeoff and a pre-selected altitude for landing.

No. 4 is the icon ServInfo uses to select the Traffic Controllers.
Nos. 2, 3 and 9 are CIVA gauges for the Inertial Navigation System that every aircraft must have for transoceanic flights. A little bit complicated but very useful. This instrument is not new but was widely used by the first transoceanic flights. Every thing needed can be found in AVSIM.

I am glad you like them and hope it will help. Imagine a Copilot that does not make any salary and does not complain.;D
