Land with one wing torn off? :O
EHM-0441 Stefan:
F-15 pilot land with one wing totaly ripped off and 250+ knots.
EHM-1883 Matt:
:o
Wow, that is pretty incredible!
EHM-1001 Robert:
I think he had much of luck and courage too, but I think technically it is possible. If you consider that major part of the lift force built on the 1st third of the wing, and the rest is "only" there to separate air layers. That point is near the engine location on large airliners.
The photos showed (but not the computer video) that a quite large piece still remained from the wing. It is possible that small amount was enough to keep the Eagle in the air at slower speeds.
EHM-2155 Mariano:
Also I belive for some fighter jets, they try to make the fuselage provide part of the lift... I know it's the case with the mig 29, Idk if the eagle has the same design characteristic
EHM-1343 Jonathan:
yes the Eagle has a large flat surface area, it provides large amounts of lift aswell...!
