The A310 fuel tank problem solved!
« on: October 24, 2008, 09:06:13 am »
Was about to take the A310 for a flight today, but during test flights I remembered that fuel tank problem, did a search on HNAC.org and found this, which worked beautifully!

I'm not sure how many of you have experienced this before when you first downloaded the EHC A310-300F, the fuel tanks were always drained by the engines with the right tanks first, and when it was dry, the left.

In the aircraft.cfg,

[fuel]
Center1   =  10.0,   0.0, -5.0, 5190, 5.0
Center2   = -70.0,   0.0, 20.0, 1620, 0.0
LeftMain  =   1.0, -25.0, -3.0, 3685, 0.0
LeftAux   = -15.0, -55.0,  0.0,  980, 0.0
RightMain =   1.0,  25.0, -3.0, 3685, 0.0
RightAux  = -15.0,  55.0,  0.0,  980, 0.0
fuel_type = 2
number_of_tank_selectors = 1
electric_pump=0

Just change the number_of_tank_selectors line to =2 ;D

NOTE: the APU will still draw tank from the right tanks first, so the crossfeed might be needed to correct the fuel imbalance later on.

The x-feed blocks off fuel from the right tanks first, so instead of solving the fuel imbalance, it worsens it. To get around this, on the x-feed once, off it, and on it again. Now, it will block flow from the left tanks. Just remember to turn it off again once the fuel levels are equal again!
