Croisiere Noire ProPilot Event

<< < (4/17) > >>

EHM-0948 Bruno:
Dear pilots,

We already have all airplanes prepared!

FSX and FS9 for both EHM and PMDG versions! Took us some time, but it's finished ;D

Tomorrow we will post them on the Events page, and I will announce here when it's done.

Regards and sorry for the delay.

EHM-0948 Bruno:
Hi mates,

The airplane has been released! Check it out ;) ...

Don“t forget to add your airplane on the aircraft.cfg.

EHM-2131 Bruce:
great paintwork :> looking forward to the event!! merry Christmas All

EHM-2387 Eric-Jan:
Good paint! Like it very much!

Newbie Question: how does this work exactly?

1- It's a PP event, so I'll have to use PP to lock a flight, and  Flight Logger to record and file my PIREPS
2- since PP flights keep track of where an a/c stays overnight, I'll have to somehow lock a plane to my ID? Otherwise someone else could move it for me, and I would be lost without transportation in the middle of the desert. We wouldn't want that to happen now, would we? Or are there just a whole lot of B1900D's sitting in DAOO, that can only be locked for a Croissiere Noir flight (which would be the same for destination 2 a few days later, and destination 3 a few days after that)?
3-Are event flights meant to be made on-line, or is that at pilot's discretion? On a flight-to-flight basis? As a group flight perhaps?
4-Are there prefered routes, or do we make them up as we go?
5-Who is gonna be dissappointed (mad at me) when I discover half way through the event that it is taking up too much of my free time, and decide to spend it otherwise? (apart from myself for not comitting, and not receiving a wonderful badge;), of cause).

I think I will want to start the event, but I'm not sure I can make all flights within the set time restrictions.

EHM-0654 Murray:
Eric-Jan,

In order ('cause I might as well...)

1. Yes, exactly.
2. The PP event system that was developed at the start of 200(8?7?) takes care of someone else locking your plane (by flat stopping it... you get a personal and private B1900D for the event). Even if someone does manage to lock your plane, there are always standby aircraft available and a management team that keeps on top of such things ;)
3. By tradition, we hold an online "fly-in" for the first leg, then it's up to the pilot. I like to fly PP events online and with real-world weather, others are happy to fly the event "offline" (being PP, you currently require an active Internet connection while flying so our server can "spy on you" ;) but you don't need to be on IVAO/VATSIM unless you want to be)
4. Depends on the event. There'll be a suggested route (no doubt) but as with all such things, if you go a different route, good for you.
5. Only you Eric-Jan, only you. We've gotten events down to a fine art now; planning them (and participating, of course) is what takes all the time, assigning aircraft etc takes a few hours only and is done but once.

Oh, and put me on the "list" for the event please Bruno... I'll see if I can't make time to participate.
