EHM-0962 Zhen Yi:
For decent performances it would be best that you go with Simao's setup.....but if you want higher performances but not to the extreme (as in FS doesnt even utilise that much power) robert's setup looks to be good though the pricing is not known

EHM-1459 Jonny:
How does this sound?

Asus A7V600 XP/Duron DDR333
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
512MB DDR400
Chenming 601 Mid Tower
40GB Ultra ATA-133 7200 RPM
GeForce4 Ti 4200 128mb 8X AGP
Lite On 52x CD-Rom
WinDVD DVD Playback Software
Vantec Quiet Case Fan
350W Enermax Whisper Power Supply
Stock CPU Fan (AMD)

Thanks a Million,
Jonny

EHM-1001 Robert:
Sounds very good. As for the videocard, a GF4-Ti4200 is somewhere there at GF-FX5600, so it is a good choice.

EHM-0079 Simão:
Well the Athlon XP 2400+ is a good CPU but it´s certainly an "Thoroughbred" that is an old version from Athlon XP with an cache of L2 of just 256. After this model AMD introduced the Barton, an more strong CPU, available from AMD Athlon XP 2500+ to 3000+ with L2 Cache of 512!
The difference of price is not really big, so if you can afford it, would be a better choice to buy an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton.
Abot the graphic card, Asus Geforce FX5600 has on general better performances...
If you use Hi-Speed Internet and make downloads, 40 GB of disk in nowdays very few.. try at leat one of 80GB!!
Hope i gave some help!
Safe landings,

EHM-1358 Tim:
Or you could by 2- 40GB hard drives. This would even out all off your stuff. You could set it out like.

Harddrive 1-Windows Files and Program Files.

Hardrive 2- Downloads/ Files/Music Etc
