In FS2004, how can I start a flight with a loaded IFR Plan before takeoff?? I don't know how to do it. I just can open it after takeoff, through ATC window... Any help?

Well in FS2002 you click on Create A New Flight, select your destination and type of route you want and the computer will generate the plan for you......it's not very realistic though......FS2004 should also work in about the same way......you can also modify the plan i believe but i'm not sure how to do that in FS2004

You load a IFR flightplan from the part of the FS2004 that called "Create a flight" It here you can choose aircraft, weather and things like that. you get to the flight plan by clicking on the button that says "Flight Planner" here you can make a create a flight plan and load a flight plan if you have made a flight plan before and want to use it again. Just press load, pick the flight plan from the list and press "OK" and "OK" again and you will be asked if you want to move the aircraft to the start location of the flight plan, if you do the press "yes" then you should be back at the "create a flight" part. When you press "fly now" your aircraft should be at your start location (if you said "yes" to moving it), and your IFR plan should be load, so you don't have to load it from the ATC window.

I've done it, but it is not loaded when I press "Fly Now". In FS2002 it works, but not in FS2004...

Must say that really sounds weird :o

edit: Just thought of something, you say it works in FS2002, do you have both flight sims installed, and is it the same flight plan you are trying to use. I'm not sure about this, but I don't think a FS2002 flight plan will work in FS2004. Just a thought.

In FS2002 when i load an IFR flight plan, the ATC window start in free flight format (as in with take off option, taxiing options etc) and not the usual IFR flight format (as in directly connecting with the atc to verify the flight plan etc)....not sure if the same happens in FS2004....could it be that this is the not loaded symptoms that you've noticed when it actually has already loaded (observable through line on GPS in FS2002)?

Hmmm, I do not understand the situation...not always load in ? I never have such problem. Many times I do not see anything on the GPS gauge, or on the in-flight map, I guess because of memory problem, but the flightplan is always there.

My IFR plans appear at the GPS, but I don't have any option on ATC to IFR Clearance when still on ground, just taxiing or parking options... Now I can get it, loading the plan with the menus (ALT key), but there not any way to have it automatically loaded after pressing "Fly Now" ??

That sounds like the problem i was describing.....maybe you could try loading the flight plan, immediately saving it again and then click on "Fly Now"?

If that doesn't work you could try loading the plan, then changing something in the plan, save it and fly immediately thereafter......
