Flying and Reporting Flights
(1/1)
EHM-1997 Alexander:
Filing your pilots reports (PIREP)
There are 3 stages to flying with Euroharmony; Assign a flight, fly a flight and report a flight and currently two ways of reporting flights at Euroharmony: manual submission or using Flight Logger. It is important to understand how you can
Assign a flight
First of all, you need to decide what and where to fly - or have Euroharmony decide for you. You may already be restricted by your current rank, but there are additional restrictions based on division. To begin, log into the website and click on dispatch underneath your name.
If you would like to make all the decisions yourself, you can select from Timetable or Charter. Timetable allows you to browse timetabled flights for each hub and division and select whichever you would like to fly. Charter allows you to charter a flight using one of the Aeroclub GA aircraft.
For less decision making, there is Route and Propilot. Route allows you to supply a departure, destination and other variables such a number of legs and it will then assign a multi-leg route for you to fly.
Propilot is a more serious form of flight whereby actual aircraft are modelled moving around the routes, pilots must fly on from last destination and more. Please see the Propilot information thread for more details.
Finally you have Assignment which will have Euroharmony make the choices and assign a flight to you.
Fly a flight
If you are using Flogger to automatically record your flight and post your pilot reports for you, then you will need to have this application downloaded, installed and running. Please see the Flogger thread for more information on its use. Flogger can be used to record both normal and the special Propilot flights, but Propilot flights can only be flown with flogger and may not be manually posted.
While you may select how to fly to suit your personal preference and enjoyment, you may wish to use a flight planner, fly online with live ATC or use a variety of add-ons to enhance your experience.
If you are going to manually submit your flight, you will need to make a note of the times you start the aircraft, take-off, land and shut-down as well as optional data such as fuel burnt.
Report a flight
Manual Submission
To manually submit your flight, simply return to your dispatch panel and click on the submit icon next to the assigned flight you just flew. Complete the outstanding information on the page and click submit. Manual submissions are verified by your hub manager or other management, so at this stage they are held pending verification. While in this state you can edit or delete a Pirep if you made a mistake before it is validated.
Once validated, the flight time will count towards your total and after reaching each threshold you will be promoted in rank which unlocks a wider variety of aircraft and destinations for you to enjoy.
Flight Logger
The Euroharmony Flight Logger is a requirement for Propilot flights, but is also the fastest way to report normal flights as it does all the work of monitoring and recording times for you. Please see the pages on Flogger for more information.
