;D
Well, the demo of it is. As I have always said to those that asked me about XP9; get the demo, have a go and see if it's for you before you decide to go X-Plane.
Downloads for Windows, MacOS X and Linux available now from www.x-plane.com
(Started my install before leaving for work this morning...)

As I say in the other thread, if you can resist, wait for the Aerosoft European release in January. It adds quite a lot to the sim for the price and will give time for the initial issues to be ironed out.

Grrr... The forum keeps claiming my password isn't my password.
Anyhow, I ran the demo OK (what airfield is that?) but since I don't have any of my flight controls calibrated on my new PC yet (said I was waiting for XP10...) I couldn't actually get off the ground. Having said that, very pretty (finally) - I'd say it's giving FSX a run for it's money in the ground pretty.
I'll be grabbing some video footage for YouTube once I have basic controls set up.

Downloading....
Check the local map to see what area you are in ??
I have a copy of XP9 on my laptop that runs in demo mode to check paints, new airports ;), etc. When I use that, I encounter the same situation.
Check the key assignments to control the plane. Primary controls are not mapped to keys, AFAIK, but full pitch trim up can get you off the ground. I believe roll is 8,9,0 (left center right), rudder 5,6,7. Throttle 1,2, flaps 3,4.
This is all by heart, and from X-plane 9. So I'm not sure this is the same in X-Plane 10. And don't expect to be able to fly full procedures, but it will give you an idea of performance.

Word is that default settings in the demo are harsh - you may wish to play with things to get good frame rates.
