Updating FS9 / FSX navigation database
EHM-1465 Dominic:
For those of you who, like me, get frustrated when using a freeware plane and the default FS9 / FSX flight planner because so many current waypoints are missing, here's the solution:-
Go to http://www.btinternet.com/~gb.mitch/index.html
follow the instructions at the site and you can update your default Nav database in seconds! No more trying to use real world flight plans but being unable to as all the waypoints are missing :D
Many thanks to the author Graham for this free update :)

Has anybody downloaded this ?? the gps in Fs9 is almost useless file a flight plan and you go to many places to get to your destination Bruce EHM-2131

Sorry Bruce, I'm not sure what you're getting at?
Although the flight planner in FS9/FSX is not the best, it can be worth using particularly if you use an external program/website (eg Virtual Dispatch) to generate a flightplan then transfer this into FS9/FSX and with this update you're much more likely to find that the waypoints will be recognised. Personally I find that a useful facility for aircraft that don't have their own FMC and/or nav database.
As with everything, if you don't want to use it you don't have to.

Just found this topic. There's another source for updating the database. It also offers updates with each AIRAC cycle. Free of charge, of course.
