A new X-Plane pilot

(1/2) > >>

EHM-2781 Renaat:
My 'tin box' with the 8(!) dvd of X-plane 10 has arrived this morning  8)
I must say I'm really impressed with the default scenery.
Of course there is a learning curve as every sim is different but so far I really like it.

EHM-1465 Dominic:
Let us know how you get on with X-Plane Renaat, I think a lot of people are interested in how this sim compares to what they are used to with a view to their future choices in Flight Simulation ;)

EHM-2781 Renaat:
Something I've noticed is the importance of using aileron trim. Without I constantly need to apply right aileron.
First I thought it because the single engine ,Cessna 172, torque force. But I flow a dual prop and had the same.
I don't want to call it a  'problem' I guess its more realistic than FS X.
Tomorrow I will install the Beechcraft 1900D from the VA and check this one out.

EHM-1997 Alexander:
Welcome to the club Renaat!

If I can recommend payware planes for you - the MU-2 and the CRJ-200 are both extremely good. Carenado's offerings are pretty nice too. The Pilatus PC-12 flies great, you soon get past the look of the cockpit, Dash 8 is nicely modelled as well.

EHM-2781 Renaat:
Tx, I bought the CR200 but it still in his box, I need to wait until I have the correct Euroharomny rank.

Another thin I noticed is that it's harder to visual find an airport.
In FSX the 'background' of an airport is concrete grey. The few x-plane airports I visited it was grass green witch make is hard to spot from the air.

Overal really loving x-plane, especial the Beechcraft 1900 !
