Boeing Business Jet II
« on: November 08, 2004, 12:32:03 pm »
Hello people,

I made a flight with the Boeing Business Jet II from Lisbon to Venezuela (SVMC) and crashed :) ...

Crashed because the airplane run out of fuel...

My question is, did I made something wrong, or the airplane is not "made" to do so long range flights ?
I made a cruising speed of 270 knots, FL330.

Thanks,
Bruno Falcão

I guess you used the Flight Logger program, or the Offline database. Those old timetables contained many impossible flights. I have to say though, when you create a flightplan you should check your aircraft  performance if it fits to that range. If not you should make a refuel stop somewhere in the middle of the route.

The new timetables probably do not contain impossibly long flights.

When I am doing long-haul flights. I allways stop in somewhere exotic. On your way to Venezuala, you could have stopped in the netherlands Antilles. You know, that legendary airport.

I think you need to change it into a jpg or something like that. And resize it a bit. If I remember correctly the max height of a Signature picture 120 pixels and file size around 20 kb

The BBJ2 should make that flight without a fuel stop regardless of the outdated schedule. Also, you should be cruising at FL390 (FL380 in RVSM areas) and Mach 0.78 (long range cruise).

Standard cruise for the BBJ2 is Mach 0.80 and high-speed is Mach 0.82 for future reference.
