sometimes FS does weird stuff
(1/1)
EHM-0361 Karsten:
ust had a bit of a weird experience, I'm flying an EHO flight between LPMA and LGAV. I have reached my cruise altitude FL 330. Everything is moving along nicely. Then suddenly all hell breaks loose, the aircraft lose 5000ft and I start to over speed. Well we have been there before and know this sometimes happens. I get my speed down below the speed limit. But according to the ALT meter, I’m still losing altitude about a 2000 ft at the time. So I decide to take a look outside to see if my instruments are malfunctioning or if I need to start yelling mayday mayday. My look outside tells me that the instruments are lying, because I’m apparently still at FL 330. So I need to try to find out what wrong here. The only thing I can think of trying is to change the weather setting. I normally use the inbuilt feature in FS that downloads the weather every 15 min. So I disengage that, set the weather to all sunny and calm. And then by magic everything working again, I try and put the download feature on again. Hey still working, well what can I say sometimes FS does the weirdest things. ;D
EHM-1001 Robert:
I had the same thing once before the BC, when weather download was enabled. My altimeter and speed gauges gone too, also the inbuilt Shift+Z feature showed stupid values. I fastly turned off the autopilot and made a full visual emergency landing. Then I tried to reload the airplane, which did not help. Then I turned off the weather download and finally the situation calmed down. I took off again and entered that 45 minutes extra time to the PIREP. I do not remember though if it was accepted by the HC...I guess so.
EHM-1365 Benjamin:
I also had a liitle problem like that before the BC...maybe it was a microsoft problem at the time that they have since fixed for most occasions....but obviously not all.....hmmmmm:%
