I wouldn't know exactly.. but I think so from my experience, a large improvement!
When I had 1GB, FS with all sliders maxed, ran at 20-24FPS, now I locked it at 30FPS.:)
Maybe it's because my motherboard has DualDDR system...meaning:
4 memory slots in 2 pairs(black & blue), so if U fill only a pair(2x512) memory runs at 400Mhz. But if U fill both pairs(4x512Mb) memory runs double time (800Mhz)
Maybe that's what caused an improvement

(Slow to see this post, but...) It works well enough on my Athlon XP 1900+ with 768MB RAM...

(So slow in noticing posts that could do with a response...) If you spool the throttle to c.30%N1 to overcome inertia, then spool back to 22-24%N1, that should be more than enough for 18-23kts GS... Of course, fuel/passenger load will have an effect.

It runs quite well in the virtual cockpit version with my P4 1.8 and a GeForce4 Ti4600 (1GO DDR RAM though)
For the 800/900 series I recommend fs2crew, it's a must :)
Copilot, flight attendant, gate agent, pushback guy, etc...

Yeah at the beginning the plane needs some work on the procedures and the FMS if you're not used to it, but it's so much worth it !
