Elstree airdrome
EHM-1524 Alex:
hi I am gonna tell you some cool stuff bout this airdrome,
A few minutes up the road from me is elstree airdrome in London but what is really cool is that it is firslty quite big and busy and secondly there is a public footpath which croses right over the runway, this means you can get as close the runway as you want and it is still al legal and everything. A few days ago i was walking on a hike round some of the fields round that area and we crossed right over the runway and saw a plane land and it was sunset and looked really good, also i have flown real planes at elstree airdrome :)
EHM-1343 Jonathan:
Oh nice, You mean you can walk over the runway, man that would be good for photgraphy no matter how small the APT is.
EHM-1524 Alex:
hi,
ye it is kl i was wrong there are two official footpaths along it
take a look at http://uploads.bestupload.com/users/uploads/gam_ordsvywat_sun_0270415954312.png
EHM-1365 Benjamin:
wow....so you can walk accross the runway, while planes are landing....and get hit??? or do they shut a gate first?
Still....looks pretty cool!!:]
EHM-1524 Alex:
no shuting of gates or anything lol, Although at every entrance and exit to the airdrome there are several warnings on the subject and you get worried when you get down to the bottom and rule 5 is
5) engines my start without warning
6) beware some aircraft do not have brakes
lol all true what it says. Also there is a helipad there so you can watch helis aswell
