Post by: EHM-1703 Philip on July 12, 2007, 08:39:29 pm
Hi Guys,

Just to let you know, NL-2000 have released a new set of freeware scenery for the Netherlands.

It comes on 5 DVD's and can be downloaded HERE (http://v3.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=162)

I am downloading now and will post a review when it is completed.

Cheers,

Here are the first shots I have from NL-2000 V3. In our trusty A320 shot at EHAM with AS6.5 running.

Frame rates are pretty bad I have to say, I was struggling to get 12-14 FPS with this sort of traffic. (25%)

Impressive!
Although in a couple of pics it looks like EasyJet's hub in Luton....
Do they really have so many birds parked at EHAM?
Really nice looking though.

I think the EZY revolution is due in part to an overactive traffic pack!!! It could be worse, at least its not full of Ryanair crud! :)

Easyjet operate to Belfast-International, Bristol, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London-Gatwick, London-Stansted, London-Luton, Milan-Malpensa, Basel/Mulhouse and Geneva from Schiphol so I suppose it could be pretty busy at times (especilly as they fly about 8 flights per day to London) although this was shot on peir D and EZY fly from peir H at EHAM.

Very nice screenshots, although I never liked that scenery...brilliant but, framerate killer. How can we get that 5 DVDs... by download ??? :o

And which version is that, FS9 or FSX ?

That is FS9 Robert. It took 4 days to download on my 20mbit connection. I have to agree Robert, it is about half as slow as the old NL2000 version but it is a lot higher resolution. I will tweak it a little to improve the FPS and let you know how I get on.

Great shots but I think a bit too much of a hard disc hog for me!! I'll stick with the old version until I can afford a supercomputer ;D

Yes, it is almost 30gb when installed, it has to be the largest addon ever.... And it's still free!!!!!

If there is anybody who has a slow connection but wants it, let me know what country you want it posting too and I will research the cost of postage and disks for you, you can pay me via paypal!

Cheers,

Does this new version include Polderbaan (sp)? It doesn't explicitly say on their website; it says it's "2006 real life" so I'd guess it does.
