Title: Mexico - Swine Flu
Post by: EHM-1997 Alexander on May 01, 2009, 10:58:21 pm
Will EHM be suspending flights to and from Mexico until this is over?

I think we'll leave that up to individual pilots to decide Alexander ;)

At the moment, the situation is not so grave as to require that the whole of Mexico is quarantined and there are a number of health precautions that can be taken to minimise the spread of the virus. Of course each EHM pilot can elect not to fly there and real world demand for passenger flights is massively reduced but there will be a need for health specialists as well as the media to fly there...

My take on this is much the same as IVAO's take on war... just because real world has problems doesn't mean the virtual one has to. If any of you choose to not fly to Mexico, that's your right and privilege, but equally if you do choose to fly to Mexico, all same same... :)

I understand that, and my personal opinion is that the flu thing is a media blown crock.

That said, I've seen other VAs shutting down mexico operations temporarily and wondered if EHM would be taking a stance. I assume the stance is "flights not suspended".

I don't know if real world demand has dropped substantially as a result.

Tie ins with real world events add to the feel, in the same way the EHM tours do with all the back story.
