Title: Pro pilot...Failures not sure about this.
Post by: EHM-1838 Andrew on November 12, 2006, 11:50:03 am
I am going to give pro pilot a try,and i don't mind being marked for my piloting skills(or lack of)but i am a bit uneasy about the random failures.Surly in the real aviation world (and we all know that flying is the safest form of transport)failures would be fairly rare occurrences, and i don't want my flights spoilt by continuous random failures. How random are the random failures.

Andy,

Don't worry i never had a failure, at least not a programmed one, only human failures;D
Good luck on PP it's great fun, as real as it get's.

Andy,

Pro pilot don't generate failures to your aircraft. If I remember correctly most of what you get marked on has to do with following common rules. Remember to turn on landing light before take of, remember to turn them of above 10.000 ft, remember to turn them on again under 10.000 ft. remember to reset the pressure when passing 18.000 ft.
I think this is where the most mark downs comes from.

edit: And what ever you do, don't crash in any way.

Thanks Guys
I bet  on my first flight my wings buckle and my undercarriage collapses my co pilot gets Lassa fever the tower collapses after an earthtremor (at heathrow too!) a tidal surge up the Thames vaults the Thames barrier floods the airport (after the earth tremor )shorts out the planes electrics causing a fire which sets fire to my pants causing third degree burns to my bum this final trauma resulting in a a nervous breakdown and retirement  to Eastbourne where i spend my time building airfix spitfires and whistling Dixie through a watering can .
Positive thinking;D
cheers Andy

From the initial development banter, I seem to remember that failures depending on such things as how long ago the aircraft was maintained, how much it has been flown, the general reliability of the aircraft type, how hard your compatriots had [strike]landed[/strike] bounced it etc. I don't think that this has been implemented yet.

Officially, random failures is a future feature of Propilot that has not yet been implemented. Unless you have random failures enabled you will not get any! Watch this space!

Just make sure you take it real easy and have read the propilot manual, you shouldn't go far wrong! Good luck!
