Title: Charts for the UK
Post by: EHM-1652 Doug on August 30, 2005, 02:25:55 pm
I've made a couple of  tentative steps online - and flew last night from  EGLL - through EGJJ in the Sukhoi Su80 - (great  little aircraft. )  No controllers on duty at either end- and despite broadcasting my arrival intentions on unicom - found a representative from a certain British airline parked on the active at EGJJ - observing total radio silence........

My question is charts for EGLL - EGKK. a friend sent me charts for EGLL  - one is a docking and parking chart which is fantastic. However the Aerodromme chart has individual intersection numbers - but no taxiway letters and still shows what is now (I believe taxiway A) as a runway.

Could anyone help with a source of up todate charts for the London area in particular - and the UK in general? I have an old Pooley's which is handy for smaller airports.

In advance - thanks,

Doug Ross,

Hi Doug,

UK charts are found on http://www.ais.org.uk - registration is required.

Once logged in you can go straight to http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/html/aipad2.htm for a list of aerodromes and their charts. The dates of the charts can be found in the corners.

And as far as I am aware taxiway A is still also rwy 23, however is closed until the new year.
