Andy,

I've had exactly the same problem with Tiscali for a couple of months now but I've just kind of put up with it...

If you get any joy with the helpline I'd be interested as I'll give them a go if they're any good...

I must admit, I have PIPEX (http://www.pipex.com/) ADSL and they are pretty good although PLUS NET (http://www.plus.net/) seem to be the best rated ADSL provider at the moment. If you use the ADSL GUIDE (http://www.adslguide.org.uk/) Comparison checker, you see that Tiscali don't come off very well, expecially in the area of Customer Service.

Maybe Ive just been lucky but i have found the Tiscali customer support(both e-mail and phone to be excellent).
DOM The first thing they suggest i try is to connect my broadband modem directly to the phone line using a dial up cable without the filters and see whether i still get disconnected if i don't then it could be that my usual broadband cable is faulty if i do then its something else.So far i have to report that i have been online for about two hours now(with dial up cable)and have as yet NOT been disconnected. The only fly in the ointment is that when i run my broadband diagnostic programme its still showing a line error.(bt say line is okay)

Maybe it's the line filter? You can get one from PC World for less than a fiver if it is.

I had a spare filter from tiscali  so i tried that but it made no  difference. The help line people said it was probably the cable itself.I have been online now for about three and a half hours(with my old dia lup cable and i still have not lost the connection. What i will do next is to reconect the rj11 plus filter and if it starts to cut of again i will buy a new rj11.

Good to hear that's working Andy - if you can confirm it's better over the next few days, I'll try the same myself and see if it fixes my connection problems too. Thanks mate!
