Title: Expert engine technician needed
Post by: EHM-1633 José on January 20, 2007, 09:09:32 pm
Hi guys,

Yesterday I got a new add-on: the A340-500/600, but I noticed that the aircraft tends to move by itself at idle when brakes are released. I thought that maybe any of you could help me solving this; this is what I get at Aircraft File:

[GeneralEngineData]
engine_type= 1
Engine.0=    0.000, -63.220,  -8.000,
Engine.1=   20.000, -30.740, -10.000,
Engine.2=   20.000,  30.740, -10.000,
Engine.3=    0.000,  63.220,  -8.000,
fuel_flow_scalar= 0.6640
min_throttle_limit=-0.409912

[TurbineEngineData]
bypass_ratio=4.66
fuel_flow_gain= 0.001
inlet_area= 48.150
rated_N2_rpm= 29922.000
static_thrust= 56000.000
afterburner_available= 0
reverser_available= 1

[jet_engine]
thrust_scalar =3.000

If anyone knows how to fix that I would be pleased;)

Hi José,

Thrust scalar is too much ! It should be around 1. By 3, you say, you have 3x engine power, than should be. It seems they could not prepare a nice aerodynamics behaviour ;D The bad thing if you decrease that parameter, you probably will not be able to reach cruise level/speed...etc. So the plane will be quite bad in handling.

As I know the PMDG-737 also moves ahead slowly, and nobody is complaining about that.

BTW, I think you have TOO MUCH signature images. Take care, not to got a bad word from the moderators ;)

OK Robert, thanks. I´ll try by setting it at around 2 and see what happens. I guess I´ll need to try a bit before getting a more appropiate behaviour.

And thank you too for your signature images advice;)
