Title: Beacon light penalty
Post by: EHM-2079 Carel on June 20, 2007, 09:31:49 am
First time here in the forum.

I got a question about the beacon light penalty.

I'm flying with the 747 PMDG I switch on the beacon lights and start the engines. Still I get a beacon light penalty.

Don't understand why this is happening.

Switch is in on position, batt are ok and you can see the light flashing on the outside.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I hope someone can help me out here.  Thanx in advance.

Small other question. Is there a possibillity to get flights to the US for the 767??

Thanx

Carel

Hi there Carel,

the problem is known and technical. The problem is the PMDG guys did not use the default Beacon system variable in the game, they use their own to flash the beacon. Therefore poor FlightLogger does not know about the beacon state.

But do not worry, the PP system recognizes that you used the PMDG 747 and will not count that 180 penalty points at the total. ;)

Good question Carel. We should have the B-763 capable for transatlantic flights like in real life.
Robert, if PP recognizes the PMDG 747 to forfeit this penalty, could it be possible to do the same for the landing lights problem with PSS?
Cheers,
Hector

And the topic rolls on..... :)

I will bring the PSS problem up again with Bruno when he returns (He will be away for a couple of weeks) to see if the same can be done for the PSS planes as were done for the PMDG.

As for the 767 Transatlantics, I understand your comments and it is something we have discussed and will continue to until we can find a result, our issue is that allowing 6 or 7 hour flights for class 6 would mean that Class 7 will be far easier to attain! If we were to do this, we would probably have to look at the ranking system.

I hope that makes sense.

Goodevening gentlemen,

There are actually several intercontinental flights to be flown under class 6. For example (one which i have flown once) EHM-6901 (and the respective return-flight EHM-6900). An 8 hour crossing from LZSH to KBOS. For sure there are more, just be creative with the timetable!

Also in other directions there are possibilities under class 6. What about Atlanta to Buenos Aires? Also class 6, check out EHM-6903 (and the return EHM-6930). But be prepared for a long ride: 6903 took me 9.5 hours, and the return 6930 little over 10.5!! No problem for the (Level-D) B767-300, she can take it.

Good fun though for rainy weekends ;)

Have fun and enjoy!
