Title: Tropical Traders Event; the whole story in pictures
Post by: EHM-2387 Eric-Jan on December 22, 2012, 05:29:49 pm
Dear TT-pilots ;D
I have created a dedicated album in the Gallery for posting your screenshots of the Tropical Traders Event. Please feel free to add to this gallery, and post your stories below as they unfold ...
http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/forum/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=45 (http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/forum/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=45)

Here's my contribution for Leg 1, WSSS-WIKL, I flew with Peter and David on IVAO earlier today:

After some start-up difficulties we managed to taxi to hp E1 rwy 20C (rwy 20L for those without 20C ;) )
The fact that they show up as A320s, has to do with some MTL-like issue; I'll have to get into that later.

The Leading Edge DC-3 I was flying on X-lane10, does not give much frontal view, when sitting on the ground..

From there we set off to WIKL, when immediately, I lost the IvAp connection, and could not reconnect. So I restarted the sim, and FL4, re-connected, and got away as quickly as I could (which takes some time anyway, because the LES DC-3 needs to be treated gently, and heat up slowly)

Once in the air, I did a play of catch-up, while P., and D. held back their horses, so I could join them again near JMB VOR.
We flew in sort-of-close formation after that, all the way to WIKL :)

With the airport in sight, for me, Peter was already well established on a right-hand downwind. I did a left-hand downwind (they are named after the turn direction), so I had to be careful not to make the two base legs come together ...

On final, with P. about to touch down; Better bleed some speed now...
David can be seen approaching in the distance.

I managed to touch down as Peter just turned off the runway; otherwise I would have had to go around.

Here's David on short final

And, of course, the group picture  ;D ;D

I had a lot of fun guys! Thanks.
I just hope I get my Mumble working again on my FS PC, 'cause this talking through my phone ate up 80% of the battery power! Hahaha. Next time, I'll be sure to bring a power cable :)

Again: feel free to add to the story!

Hi Eric-Jan,

Thanks for your report of our first Tropic Trade Tour-leg! I enjoyed the flight as well as you did. In addition just two screenshots, one to prove at least that David and I did fly the DC-3 and a second picture that shows the small EHM-train. For the next time I hope that the the train will be a bit longer! So to all our pilots: join us for the second leg. Watch the next Doodle-announcement!

Thanks E-J and Peter for our first T-T leg, and for the report and nice shots ;) I really enjoyed this flight and with Mumble I think is more real and very practical instead to type by IVAP. Thanks again and hope to see you again for the second leg with more T-T pilots to join us ;D

Re-flying leg 1 as I type this (45nm inb JMB), since FL4 crashed on me yesterday.
Off line, to spare me any IvAp issues ;)

After that, I'll format c: my FS PC, and start over from scratch. Not sure when I'll be ready to fly leg 2, because of it.

Will keep you posted (via laptop ;))

Filled in the Doodle :)
I have Windows, Office, and the 4 sims up and running by now. Harware is all recognised and configured. I bet I can have the IVAO software installed and running by the turn of the year, so the 2nd of Januari is my first availability to fly out of WIKL ... hope to see you all then (or Thursday or Friday, for that matter)!  ;D

Up to today three of us signed up in Doodle to fly the second leg of the Tropic Traders Tour: David, Eric-Jan and me!  Although WIKL has no or just a small platform, depending on which FS-version you use, there's still room for more online flyers!

By the way EJ,  is Mumble working too?

Mumble is installed too, and I can connect to the server. Not sure about the whole sound set-up yet, though. I used to have the Mumble / Teamspeak sound come through the headdset, and the FS sound through the speakers. I hope and believe that is the situation again, but talking to you guys soon will be the proof of the pudding ;)

Having some trouble getting X-Ivap to work; may have to revert to FSX (if I can get IvAp and TeamSpeak up and running).

BTW, IVAO has released a new IvAp version over Christmas; it might be worth checking out if it solves the issues of the latest release. I will install tomorrow or the day after.

Yess! I am officially ready now!
All systems go :)

I have planned a route
WIKL BR TKG BTO WI1C
which will take us to Rumpin in about two hours. Initial heading 127 degrees, until BR comes in range (which is only 50nm away from the beacon, while the first leg is 113nm long...)
BR: 357 kHz
TKG: 115 MHz
BTO: 115.8 MHz

Planned altitude:7500ft, due to terrain.

I suggest we give it a shot on Wednesday the 2nd, 1900Z. If needs be we can then always divert to Thursday, looking at the Doodle :)

Just finished the second leg of the Tropic Traders Tour together with Eric-Jan, David and Gian while Martin followed our efforts to get to Rumpin Airport on Java, Indonesia on Mumble.
Two pictures here below (the rest in the Gallery) should make it clear that we had a very pleasant, but cloudy, trip and after some difficulties (I had to make a goaround) safely landed.

Hope to see you guys next time and hopefully some others will follow!

P.S. Looks like the 19th (IVAO Crowded Skies) might work for me. Some things fell off the calendar; only uncertainty is that I may have to work that weekend.

Coming back to leg 04: I had made some screenshots, that I promised to post here; sorry for te delay ;)

Peter took the lead in leaving WARJ (as more or less usual ;))

We started off with some overhead clouds on a relatively low altitude of some 6500 ft.

Nice crater off to the left.

Gian had an FS crash, early in the flight, so he re-started an flew in time compression mode to catch up again.

That's David there, on our left :)

Approaching WADD, we encountered some bad weather. Rain, thunder, gusty winds... at an AOT around freezing point not too happy an environment to be flying in.

A quick descend to 3500 ft gave some relief. Top right three switches (next to the red button): right-to-left: Prop anti-ice, wing anti-ice, fuel jettison. Guess what happened when I discovered that I was flying in freezing rain ...

Slipping to loose speed; Peter is pretty close, and I am still high on the approach, so I will gain speed as I dive for the runway. Rolling to the right, while applying left rudder will make you fly sideways and loose a lot of speed due to the enlarged frontal surface.

Landed safely; David and Gian to follow

4 x Smile!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

We tried to do some formation flying during this leg WADD-WRKO (WATO):

Peter had lost his Mumble connection here, but he's still connected to IVAO for saying cheese (yes, and wine, David ;)) on UNICOM ;)

Thank You , guys, for yet another great Tropical Traders adventure!
And David for leading us there  ;D

Untill today the four diehards have signed up for the next leg of the Tropic Traders Tour! If all stays the same, we'll be flying WATO to WAAT on Wednesday the 30th at 19:00 houres Zulutime.

As usual I took some time to prepare the route.  First of all - I'm the owner of just a VFR-chart of the BENELUX - I explored Skyvectors to set out the route and found out that WAAT is not recognized. No problem, that happens all the time, especially when it concernes small airfields. The second and to my opinion more reliable source is Ourairports.com! Makale airport (WAAT) is known... 4.4nm SSE of WAWT (Pongtiku airport). Zooming in on the mapview, no airfield, airstrip is found. Maybe Makale is ressorting under Pongtiku airport! The third source, Aviationtools, tells me different: WAAT and WAWT are two different airports, with different locations!
FSX shows only WAWT.

Problem?.... no problem at all! Just created an airstrip, platform and some local buildings and hangars! Makale airport excists from now on!  Who said that the world isn't makeable. The question remains and perhaps will be answered when arriving to Makale airport, will Flightlogger except this destination or not. If not,  Pongtiku is just 4.4nm further away and perhaps within F
lightloggers range?
I hope this doesn't cause that much trouble as WATO did... or was it WRKO! :-\

Meet you again next Wednesday on Mumble!

Peter
Title: Re: Tropical Traders Event; the whole story in pictures
Post by: EHM-2387 Eric-Jan on January 24, 2013, 07:30:40 pm
This airport changed ICAO codes between FS9 and FSX, and never got upddated in X-Plane. ;)

FS9: WAAT
FSX: WAWT
XP9: WAAT
XP10: WAAT
Airport name in all sims is Pongtiku, in the "city" of Pongtiku :)

(Same situation with WATO: only WRKO in FSX)

So there is no need for additional scenery packages; the airport exists in all sims, under different names, maybe. And Flight Logger, should be able to handle the ICAO aliasing correctly.

As usual... here and in the Gallery some screenshots of yesterday's flight. Gian, David, Eric-Jan, Trevor and me started a little later than planned at Komodo Airport for the sixth leg of the Tropic Traders Tour. After a pretty long trip over sea, we finally reached mainland and set course to Pongtiku, which was a bit hard to find. EJ ran out of fuel at the end of the runway (like a true penny-pinching Dutchman), Gian's FSX crashed just before landing and I had to make the approach three times, not able to see the runway due to the clouds. The pictures show that in the end we all savely landed!

Thank you, Peter, David, Gian, and Trevor  ;D

Ready for departure rwy35

Trevor on my "7"

Peter on my "1"

... and David on my "10"

I had some troubles getting my RH fuel switch turning through the "off" position from "Main" to "Aux"... So I had no RH engine for a while, and this is the flight path you get when you bury your head deep inside the cockpit, to fiddle with the switch  :-[

Everybody was strugling to find the runway. The view from in the air was like dense fog ... non-existent...

I really had no reserve fuel! Had to pushback to vacate the runway ...

Peter scaring off some birds  ;D

I had a real nice time! Too bad Gian's FL needed a re-install, and that his FSX crashed right after the moment he caught up with us. Better luck next leg, Gian!

Thks Peter for your pictures and support :).. This  FSX sudden crash is really the most frustrating one, in particular when you are almost done! In the end I could restart and complete the flight, and found that Trevor and David were still on line. They stayed tuned until I landed. Thanks to them. Hope better luck next time!

I forgot to put my generators on and therefore thought my radio's didn't work (thanks again EJ for the tip ;)), Gian had a rough landing, EJ forgot to load FL! :-[ Still we had a lot of fun, especially at our destination, where the total different sceneries generates very strange locations of the landing strip at WAMT.

We finally did meet at the FSX airfield, after some floating and bushtracking of David and EJ.

Haha! Yes, of course I pushed through those thunder clouds.  ;D
In real life I would not; I would even not have departed, as I could see the thunderstorm ahead already.
But at FL150, I was above the worst of the weather, and it looked like it would clear up further down the route.

But when descending back through the cloud layer (which, again, is not allowed when flying VFR), I hit a dense, dark grey layer with enormous amounts of rain and turbulence. I found myself at 90 degree bank angles, even upside-down at times  :o
By the time I reached the bottom of the layer, I was in a 45 degree nose down position, doing 200 KIAS, at around 4000 feet, inverted!!! Push the yoke, throttle closed, level off. Then get up-side-up by doing a low level barrel roll ...  :o :o
At the "bottom" of it all, I hit 500 ft, after which I climbed to altitudes ranging from 1200 ft to 600 ft to stay below that clouds (I got in those clouds again during the barrel roll procedure, which threw me right back down to the watery surface).
By then I had temporarily lost my Airspeed Indicator (due to icing?), and my VOR needle got stuck at 90 degrees, so I probably was out of range at this altitude and distance. Luckily, I had the NDB punched in already, and that gave a reading after a little while. So I could find my way to Ternate. Even though I started as the second one of the group, I landed last, because of my climbing to FL150, and my little course deviations ;) (I ended up coming out of the thunder clouds in a westerly direction, where the broad course of the leg was easterly ... )

Another thing we noticed was that a hasty take-off leads to errors that may have consequences ... When I initially levelled off at 9500ft, I took the time to check those things I tend to forget: gear up - OK, flaps up - OK, switches; landing lights - Ah, forgot to put them on - no need now any more, mental note to switch them on later, batteries - both on -OK, generators - oops, both off, better switch them on now; transponder on - OK.
Less than 5 minuter later, Peter said he had lost his radio - it turned out that he too had forgotten to switch on the generators  :D
Meanwhile, David told me he could not see me on our website, doing the flight. Is FL recording? Ah, no! I started up XP10 at WAAT, because I had flown the last legs on FSX. So FL did not recognise me at the origin airport. I stopped FL (Flight=> New => ProPilot flight, without pressing the "lock flight" button) to reload at WAMG. And you guessed it; I never started FL again  :-[

I think I'll re-fly the leg this evening, or maybe tomorrow evening, in order to have FL record it. Maybe I'll even give FSX a go for that, again, just to taste the difference.

Lesson learned:
Create, and USE, a check list.

It must be complete, yet usable.
The check list that came with the LES DC-3 is a 4-page one, which is difficult to read. Sure, it adds to the nostalgic feel, if the check list is in a font that resembles an old typewriter, printed on stained yellow paper with jagged edges. But if it is unpractical to use, it will sit on the desk as a stack of paper (as it is with me, for a couple of weeks already). Plus, of course, the checklist does not tell you to start FlightLogger, or switch on your IvAp transponder to mode C ;)
So that's my resolve for the next leg: create a TT tour specific check list...

Almost a disaster for Eurohamony Va. DC3's machine in Indonesia.

Still under investigation. Pilot reports that the center tank tried to switch to the rear tank for the fuel system valves. In this case, however, the right engine shut down unexpectedly. Why suddenly collapsed, and so violently to the left of the machine, and then lost 6,000 feet altitude? Mystery. Fortunately, no serious injuries went their way. Aircraft currently in West Papua Manokwai Rendani airport located near the city investigate structural damage, and other problems in search.

Wow, Tames!
Some hair raising times there!

Good of you have taken your Drift HD or GoPro  3 "Black Edition" with you to record it all.
That way, we can all learn from your experience ;)

I always struggle with the fuel tank switches in the X-Plane 10 Leading Edge Simulation's DC-3, especially on the RH side. It always results in shutting the right engine down involuntarily, and restarting again when fuel flow is positive again. With my head dug deep down under in the cockpit, it's always a surprise when I resurface what attitude she has  ;D

Yep, I got Mumble up again.
Flightsim PC is still in protest, though. But I am determined to break this virus!  :P

(some annoying ransomware keeps popping back up, blocking my computer from starting up further. I take out the culprit, but then it comes back again after two or three restarts. Have to go figure out what gets copied where to re-initiate the whole process. This could take some time, but it can also be solved in 5 minutes this evening. there's just no saying how it will turn out.)

says there have been some website/forum issues. That has made it necessary to restore a backup.
As per Dominic's reply to this one:
http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/forum/index.php/topic,7322.msg55083.html#new (http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/forum/index.php/topic,7322.msg55083.html#new)
I'll re-send my saved PIREP (it did not want to file right away, so I saved it  ::)) and be back at WASK again after that.

Bruce, you can try the same: locate your WASK-WAJW flight in FL4 (File - Open - *.ehm, with a name that consists of the date, time, and your EHM ID of the particular flight; somewhere in My Documents/Flightlogger4/temp), and re-file.

As this is a PP event, there are no other options than to re-file the PIREP, or re-fly the leg, so I hope the re-filing part works for you...

I could not get FL to re-submit, and manual PIREP is not possible for PP, so I'm about to re-fly the leg.
Lucky for me, it's the shortest leg around. I'm afraid Bruce will have to re-do the longest one ...  >:(

I only save if submitting does not work, before closing FL, of course.
But even if you close FL, the ehm file will be in the folder I indicated. So (unless something went very, very wrong with FL) it's always possible to open the flight again later. It then only requires that you know when the flight was started, because that's the file name format.

To my shame I must admit that I fell asleep at around 2030LT (1930Z), after dinner.  ::)
When I woke up, you guys were already over half-way there (I saw you on Web-Eye). So I just went to bed, and will try again this evening, or over the weekend.
I've been working overtime for the last week-and-a-half, and will continue to do so at least until April 1st (might stretch to mid-April, if needed). And I am now faced with the fact that I am not 20 years old any more  ;D.

So to prevent disappointment, I will not promise to fly with you guys in the next weeks, I'll just show up whenever it's "convenient" for me. Of course, I'll aim for the "Doodle date", since it is far more fun to fly together, but just no more promises ;)

An ehhm, ..., interesting evening, to say the least :)

It all started with a bit of a delay due to all of us having Flight Logger issues discussed in another thread. After solving them, we (Peter, David, and myself) took off at around 2030Z. At that time, Gian came to join us from his flight from Atlanta to Bermuda, so we were with 4 already. Having to catch up, he used some accelerated time to Concorde his way to join the herd.

[Limit reached]Climbing out, there were some patches of ground fog, but no significant weather.

[Limit reached]En route, approaching GA, still climbing to avoid the terrain.

[Limit reached]Upon approaching Cape Gloucester, some clouds appeared, with a cloud base initially at some 3000 ft. Later, near our destination, the ceiling dropped to 1100 ft. Or at least in my (XP10) environment. In XP10, runways are more difficult to discern than in FS9/FSX, and flying low does not help then! Luckily, Trevor had by then found his way to CPG / CGC, so his flashing beacon lights could serve as an initial guidance :)

[Limit reached]Creating my own dust storm at the dirt strip of Cape Gloucester  ;D As you can see, there are some differences in scenery between the sims.

[Limit reached]After filing my PIREP, I tried to join the rest of the crew for a group picture moment. As they were all sitting in (or actually "over") the sea in my scenery, I had to go very close to the edge of the water. And, of course, I fell inn (lost my #1 prop in doing so).

[Limit reached]Amazing how much buoyancy a DC-3 has, in X-Plane ;)
Floating off into the sunset.

[Limit reached]At around half-way the trip, I lost both engines. Probably I overloaded them trying to catch up with Peter and David, at high altitude. Not a fuel issue, this time. Temperatures appeared to remain in the green, until the engines stopped.By then CHT gauges indicated 0. Either the gauges broke down, or some electrical failure had occurred, or the cylinder heads were actually really cold. Cannot determine that any more. But flying in mountainous terrain, without propulsion, that's not a preferred situation. AYGA was the nearest field, so I tried an emergency landing there. I did not have the gliding range, though (I kept her pretty neatly at best glide speed). But, lucky for me, the terrain in the vicinity of the airport was relatively flattened. A last minute gear-down, and full flaps to bleed off all possible speed, I gently touched down in a grass patty some 3 nm short of the airfield. Flightlogger found that I had landed (not at destination), not crashed, so I must have done it right. ;) After some quick repairs, I was soon ready to depart again. I would take the direct rout to CGC, deviating only to avoid the mountains. I ended up just ahead of Peter and David, while Gian had already Concorded past me to land as #1.

So, with the FL issues, the emergency landing, and the excursion on to the water, all in all quite an adventure. And that on a regular Monday evening ...

Post by: EHM-2758 Peter on March 19, 2013, 04:50:28 pm
Hi EJ,

Must be a slip of the pen... ehhh keyboard. You probably meant Panair Do Brasil and what's a 'panic'-air situation, if you compare it to what these pilots have to endure who fly across Colombia!
Just watch this video: http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/riskingitall/2011/05/201151112305049621.html (http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/riskingitall/2011/05/201151112305049621.html)

Al Jazeera hitched a ride on one of the 30 DC3's that fly across Colombia regularly. It proved to be a risky trip; over the Amazonian rainforest, the plane was caught in a violent storm. Amid turbulence, without visibility and no radio contact, it took the captain enormous effort to steer the metal bird above the clouds.
"It's dangerous," Captain Raul told Al Jazeera. "The slightest problem and the plane will just fall out of the sky."
The DC3's serve a number of Indian villages in the Amazon, and they are often the only means of transportation connecting the jungle towns to the outside world. Raul transports villagers, furniture, mattresses and animals in his plane.
No one seems to know the exact age of the plane Raul is flying. "During the war the flight data wasn't recorded. It only began when we started taking passengers and freight, when civil aviation began," the captain told Al Jazeera. "I think it was updated in 1962."

Yet the ancient model seems to miraculously land and take off in the harsh conditions of the Amazonian. For Raul, no control towers, minimal fuel reserves, and a slippery landing strip instead of a runway are daily business.

Read Al Jazeera's full report from Colombia on their website. Above, watch the full episode of Risking It All.

Enjoy,

Peter

Great!
Today would have been impossible, Tuesday probably problematic. Wednesday is a realistic opportunity for me, so I'll try to be there then. :)

[Limit reached]Still low clouds in my real world weather ;)

After an aborted take off due to an engine fire (I had left the engines running too long, waiting to depart. And then when I opened up the throttles to the max, #2 engine caught fire) I was almost last. Gian returned to CGC to start FL, so he was actually last in the line at that moment.

[Limit reached]Climbing through the clouds to go VFR on top. Not entirely legal   ::)

I soon found myself in CB with thunder (very lethal in reality, very high possibility of crashing, or an electrical failure in X-Plane). So I dove down to stay under the clouds at about 2000 ft. That also meant I had to follow the coastline in order to have a possible escape in case of another systems failure.

[Limit reached]And yes: about half-way, my #2 engine quit on me again. With lots of rudder, and an airspeed of about 100 KIAS, I managed to make a pit stop at the nearest airport (which was surprisingly close by, and on my route :))

[Limit reached]Having restored my power source, I climbed to what would be the highest altitude needed, this leg, to avoid terrain: about 7000ft. Beautiful, mist covered mountains :)

[Limit reached]Descending into AYKY, I needed to make a very low approach. Some 15 nm at 500 ft or less, otherwise I would be in blinding clouds... Very difficult to descern, but the other guys are out there in front of me - at AYKY already.

[Limit reached]Finally re-united with my brothers in arms :)

One engine fire, one engine stall - what's the next leg going to bring?

[Limit reached]Getting ready for departure for leg 15. David, and Gian already n the runway, Peter and myself waiting for them to clear the runway, and backtrack rwy30.

[Limit reached]Cruising along some beautiful volcanic landscapes

[Limit reached]It appeared that in X-Plane 10, the destination airport, AYGC (Choiseul Bay), is a grass strip in the middle of the water. Unfortunately, the grass strip is "above" the water, and does not hold a DC-3 :)
The landing ruined my flaps, and the parking break released the anchor, while I kept afloat. That's the advantage of an airplane that also comes modeled as a floats version ;)

[Limit reached]From a higher viewpoint, the grass would still be visible ...

[Limit reached]... but from ground level, I'm just driving on water, with my airplane  ??? ::)

Finally a flight without any difficulties. No engine failures etc. Still, as the screenshots of EJ show above, strange situations, caused by different scenerie-interpretations.

My screenshots however show that the virtual world almost can meet with the real world.

As before, here are some screenshots of last nights online flight: leg16  from Choiseul Bay Airport to Auki Airport in the Solomon Islands. That taking screenshots isn't without any danger, that's what Eric-Jan noticed: instead of getting a beautiful picture, the key combination on X-plane did eject him from his seat. A restart in Choiseul was necessary to get him back on track. A lot of crosswind made it very hard to put the DC3 on the coral runway of Auki Airport, but the scenery along the way was magnificent.

It doesn't happen often, but unfortunately not all the Doodle-entries correspondent. So if there's any change, Gian, of adjusting your possibilities....?

Wednesday sounds good to me :)

Previous flight, we discussed escape hatches in the DC-3 (due to my unfortunate eject after pressing the wrong button while wanting to take a screenshot  ::))

Here's the escape hatch in the PH-PBA (former Prins Bernhard DC-3, now operated by DDA, Dutch Dacota Association):

Yesterday's flight from AGGA to AGGL, leg 17 of the Tropic Traders Tour, went smoothly. In clear and calm weather we flew in about 2 hours to Santa Cruz airport. Unfortunately the scenery consisted for 300nm of just water. Nevertheless Eric-jan, David, Trevor and I did enjoy ourselves very much. So the screenshots are just  those of the arrival at AGGL.

Gian, Trevor and I were the three diehards that flew leg 18 of the Tropic Traders Tour last evening. Again a flight mainly over water. Halfway Gian noticed that a strange plane with an unknown callsign appeared on FSCommander. Normally we fly in these regions all by ourselves.  It appeared to be David in a very fast Raptor (I think!). Glad you still could join us, David!

While the others flew at 4500ft in a clear blue sky, I encountered some thunderstorms and had to stay low at 1500ft. I'm still very curious how the weather is provided in FS and how realistic that is? I use Activesky2012, IVAO's weather engine shutdown.

Here's the Doodle-link for leg 19: http://www.doodle.com/5pdmgid4tuaqe8ay. (http://www.doodle.com/5pdmgid4tuaqe8ay.)

As you probably know, I won't be present. So I hope that someone else takes care of the scheduling.

Have a very nice flight and hope to meet you on Mumble after the 12th of May.

Peter

The Doodle link somehow did not work for me, but I am flying leg 19 tomorrow, the 2nd of May.
Now that we have a new king, and I am more or less sober again, I feel I should give it a try.

As leg 19 is pretty long (470 nm), I intend to take of at around 20:30 Dutch time, which I believe is 1830Z now (with daylight saving time, and all)

Anyone care to join me?

Good news! :) Holidays are here! :)

Bad news too ... It means I probably won't be able to finish the TT event. Or at least not on line, because internet connection at the camping (through my iPhone as hotspot) really does not allow for online flying.
Will try to do the remaining few flights on my laptop with the new flight logger, and new FSUIPC (just tested that, and it all works), and only use the internet connection for filing the PIREP. That is: if I get around to flying at all, of course.
This week I'll have a couple of days off (so I'll go to the camping), next week I'll be in Frankfurt for work, and the week after I'll be on my "real" spring Holiday.

Somewhere in between, by the way, I'll be part of a scientific experiment, using a full-motion military flight simulator ... http://www.desdemona.eu/ (http://www.desdemona.eu/)
But more on that later ;)

From my holiday address in the south of France, I'll try to get the World Traders Tour pilots together again for the next leg, which is, I think, leg. 21.
