Post by: EHM-1465 Dominic on April 21, 2014, 10:53:31 am
Ahead of the B744 Event starting on 29th I thought it would be useful to highlight a few good Youtube videos to get everyone in the mood ;)

So if you're not intimately familiar with the history of the Queen of the Skies, start here:-

This next video may be useful for leg 3 of the Event, it deals with Oceanic crossings, fuel planning and checking on long sectors. Although it was filmed aboard a 747 Classic the principles are equally valid for the 744.

The next video shows a night-time pre-flight, taxi and take-off from Miami with good ATC for anyone who wants to practice their phraseology ;)

This next video continues from the last one with a review of engine starts, a chance to see proper takeoff technique and flap retraction and then some information about PFD and ND use:-

For the last video before the Event begins, I thought it would be nice to look at a video of another simmer who has put a lot of time into his sim cockpit! Since he filmed this sequence he has added a proper projection system for the views, follow the link to his other videos to see how much more impressive it looks after...
