Title: The next Event
Post by: EHM-2387 Eric-Jan on September 24, 2018, 06:51:48 am
We would like to hear from you!
This thread is for anyone with ideas for a new PP event. Ventilate your ideas in a response to this message thread.
It does not have to be all worked out yet; no need for a full leg list right away. Just brainstorming on locations, aircraft, the story behind the event, that sort of things.
Any and all ideas are welcome. Inspire us! ;D

Hi Folks,

Though hardly recovered from the Breitling tour (what a monster), I'm preparing another event: a shorter one, but very challenging. Because this one is in development I only can give you a screenshot of the region I'm flying over. I'm just on my way at 12000 ft in the brand new A2Asimulations Beech Bonanza V35B to the starting point of this event to examine if it can be done. B.t.w. it's a VFR tour.

In the days to follow I'll give you some more teasers.

Peter

p.s. never been in that region, so, good idea David!

Didn't take you Guys long to get the ball rolling again. :)
We wait in anticipation, and for another clue. ;D
  Cheers,

Was that an all time record you set David, fourteen flights on the same day, flying the U.S. tour??

Arrived somewhat late yesterday at the starting point of the tour and thought it was no use taking pictures in the pitch-dark. This morning I finished the 15th and last leg (on paper) and checked whether the ICAO codes of the airports were the same in FS9 as in FSX. So far no differences.

In turbulent weather I took off this morning VFR squawk 7000) to make the next screenshot as shown below (in the circle you'll find the seaplane dock of this airport):

Any idea?

Good to hear from you again guys! I'll be in, whatever you decide:). India and Pakistan look good, but I'm sure Peter is also preparing something special....lots of challenges to come then!

Cheers,
Gian

I am still no closer with the location Peter; but working on it. :)

Should I say more, really?  On purpose I mentioned the squawk code I used; the pictures show a very watery, mountainous country which airports still can be reached by seaplane.

Know which way the wind is blowing, might be helpful (just a cryptic remark!)

Hmmmm.... newbie here for this kind of thing, but I'll bite:

7000 squawk = europe
turbulent (and cloudy/rainy too?) weather = Uk, Scotland maybe? Dunno, but that's what comes to mind.  I think I saw a corgi or two on the ground in that screeshot.
Seaplane access = remote part of the UK?

Either way, I'm interested for sure.

Good thinking, Karl. But it's neither a remote part of the UK, nor England , nor Scotland. And that's a second cryptic hint.

Keep on trying. Where there's a will there's a way.

Hi T (high tea sounds the same!, tastes different!),

Sorry, too small countries to fly a decent event.

It certainly wasn't my portrait. You're right, T, Norway it is. At least... it will be the second event after the one Eric-Jan is preparing right now. Which one that is, I don't know. So, we'll have to wait for Norway a while, I think.

An explanation of the hints:

As Karl already mentioned in an earlier message, squawk 7000 pointed at an European country;
"Know which way the wind is blowing" and "neither the UK, nor Ireland nor Scotland.... followed by "Where there's a will, there's a way..."  pointed to Norway.
The troll "wondering how old he is" did the trick.

Hahahaha!  I like that.  I only checked this now (was working a wedding last night), so I missed the troll pic, which was (now anyways) a 2x4 - or 39mm x 89mm for you metric people out there - upside the head
