Hello all, just wondering if any pilot is using  IVAO altitude software, if so what is your opinion of it, ie is it easy to install and use, for a non techie person, have looked at the manual and looks a bit complicated to set up and use,  any input would be welcome, Best regards Bruce EHM 2131

Announcements / PP Event: French Polynesia
« Last post by EHM-2387 Eric-Jan on September 29, 2021, 01:13:01 pm »
With the success of the New Zealand North Island Event in mind, and with the winter coming in our part of the world, we thought it would be a good idea to stay in the Southern hemisphere where it is getting to be summer.
French Polynesia it is!
We'll be ferrying tourists from the main hub NTAA to the remote islands of the archipelago. We left out the furthest islands for this event, because that would be 700-ish nm trips over only water. The legs are roughly between 100 and 300 nm. Longer than the NZ legs, but still doable in an evening with a C172, C182, C208, or Twin Otter or such.

Here's the discussion topic for this event:

By the way: his official start was in my home country, at Teuge Airport, apparently.

Trevis Ludlow is today starting his attempt to fly a modified C172 aound the world solo,  becoming the youngest person to do so.
His website says he'll start the 29th, but in an interview with The Flying Reporter he states today (the 27th) as his departure day.

Guess what?!?

We're going to do some sight-seeing in Kiwi Land  ;D ;D
These are all very short legs, meant to be flown in a C172 or equivalent G.A. aircraft. they range from 12 to 137nm, so take detours as you like. We'll be visiting most of the airstrips on the North Island. So follow the coast, fly around a mountain, enjiy the scenery!

Head on out to the main website now, and enroll for this specatacular views event :)

Ah! Never thought of that, cheers Eric.  ;D ;D

I've been using DISCORD for the Flybywire A320 project and have noticed 5 other EHM pilots
on the "Fly-Euroharmony (2758)" channel which was initiated by Peter.

Chit Chat / A lesson in cleanliness

After several months of problems with my computer, mostly 10min holds for what i thought was software issues, doing a search on the Internet to try and sort it out , came across an article on  overheating, so took on a challenge to open my computer as it was well out of guarantee , well what i got was a white interior, both side panels were White, the mother board etc also the heatsink had loads of fluff some brown bits that looked scorched.

So out came the anti static band an assortment of brushes, a can of compressed air, a face mask, and a small vacuum. after  awhile l started to make headway into the mess, several stops to use the house vacuum to clear the desk, a couple of hours of this had most of the fluff of the fans and heatsink and motherboard and other, bits, so after a beer to clear my mouth l continued......

Finished all the nooks and crannies, put the sides back on, kept my fingers crossed switched on all was ok , so loaded FSX10  did a flight no lockup after 5 hrs, and a cool computer and a happy bunny, so the moral is keep all your bits clean ...     best regards Bruce  EHM2131

Flight Simulation Matters / FREEZ LSZH Question
« Last post by EHM-1838 Andrew on February 25, 2021, 04:50:40 pm »
HELLO ALL

I have a very good scenery(excellent) scenery for LSZH (FREEZ).
There is a problem though, whatever the wind strength or direction I always end up on rnwy 16.
This happens if I use my weather addon FSREALWeather pro or if I select a standard FS9 weather theme.
With my other airports if move my aircraft of choice to my selected dep airport I will automatically be positioned at the correct runway for the prevailing weather conditions.
Any thoughts appreciated .
PS I  cant tune into the LSZH ATIS either to get the necessary info as the frequency is not available in my comms for some reason.

Thanks Andy
