Tour Awards
« on: March 05, 2009, 01:20:40 pm »
Hi
I have just completed the Tour of Greece. The information states that, on completion of the tour, I should request the award from the Award Request page. When I go to that page the only requests that can be made seem to be for Instructor's Awards. Can I assume that the tour awards now come automatically like the European, etc. awards?

Ian

Hi Ian
Give it a day or two mate. The tour is registered automatically.

Hi Ian
You may have to re-fly Leg2 (A202), as it's missing from your "Pilot Profile" flights list.
  Regards
  Trevor

Hi Trevor

I don't have a huge problem with flying this again but I don't understand what has happened as that particular leg is listed in my Pilot Profile page. I have just checked.

I see the problem now. The flight was registered as EHM1786 instead of EHM A202

    EHM-A201  12.02.2009  LGAV  LGLM  01:12  Beechcraft Baron 58
  ( EHM-1786 ) 14.02.2009  LGLM  LGMT  00:56  Beechcraft Baron 58
    EHM-A203  16.02.2009  LGMT  LGHI  00:30  Beechcraft Baron 58
You may have to fly that leg again. using A202
  Hope this helps mate.

OK, will fly this leg again. I must have clicked on the wrong flight when using Flightlogger.

Hi Trevor

Have just now completed re-flight of leg EHM-A202. Hope this rectifies problem with award. I have had another look at my flight record and I see what you mean about the wrong flight number. This shows up the need for careful checks!!

My only concern now is that flying A202 again with the correct flight number may mean that my tour will have been shown to have been flown in the incorrect order. Will this be a problem?

Regards,

Ian

The current award engine doesn't overly care what order you fly tour legs in, the next version of it (that I am just finishing up planning) will.

Oops, very slow to reply Raoul. Yes, there will be, and I'm looking into why it wasn't auto-sent immediately after the event completed (one of the MT also completed the event and reminded me about this issue this morning).

Good news everyone! Thanks to the tireless works of Robert S (EHM-1001), we've got the badges all made up and with luck and a following wind, the now fixed award script will pass them on to you all in the next day or three.

EDIT: Well, after a few manual runs of the award script, and a little debugging, I can confirm that the award has been made to 7 pilots (I'll not list you all, you know who you are, and your avatar badges should have the mini award in a day or two, so the rest of us know who you are).
