Hi,
I have just downloaded the F1 B747. Great job! Thanks for this nice livery.

I wonder whether the PMDG livery can be adapted to the iFly 747 which is quite similar to the PMDG, but is free ;)

Anyone is using this plane?

Regards,
Luciano

Well, except some 3D model unreality, the Meljet model is much beautiful than the iFly one. If you want to use its panel you can merge the 2 planes. ;)

I downloaded it last night too, a bit big for those of use with just dial-up but well worth it. Made a test flight from EGLL LSGG and it flew beautifully... can't wait to take the 'Champion Mover' around the world! ;D

Downloaded it too and did a few test landings at the first arrival (Kuwait).
First with my trusted Falcon and then with the Champion Mover.
Although I do not possess the ATP rating and I'm not experienced in the type, I found it more forgiving than the Falcon in some situations. (Of course it's probably 'cause the Falcon's dynamics are rather old).

Excellent work! Can't wait for the event to start.

Ok mates, the Events page has been updated with a link for all the "Champion Mover" versions.
We have our default texture and a special one for PMDG.

On my clock it is 30 mins to start the event! ... We wish good luck to everyone and remember that you can't crash your airplane!

GOOD LUCK PILOTS!

I've just been trying to book my flight and it seems there is no flight available :( The server is now at 2007-03-01 time = 1204 so it has just turned March 1st so the first flight should be available and it is not.

Ops, because of some earlier tests, I forgot to change the start and end leg dates for the first flight :o ..

It's solved now, and you can reserve the flight.

Good luck!

Wow, right now there are 7 of us flying; 4 the first leg and 3 the second leg. Seems like the F1 race can take place as planned.

Hey guys, im having a big problem, everytime with 1hr and 48mins left, my FS crashes, everytime its over Iraq, im wondering if its my FS or something else because everytime i approach there, my Frame rates start to decrease and finally at 1hrs 48mins left, it crashes, wasting 3 of my flights :'(

this time, i was in fullscreen, with only FScreen, Flight Logger and Ivae on... :%

Paolo: It took me about 7,5 hours for the second leg.

Robert, you are correct. :) I was once Magnus Larsson, former Chief of Development, former Chief of Operations. Worked pretty close (and hard?) with Gergely and Maarten back in 2003 - beginning 2004. I actually made the very first prototype version of a flight logger. It wasn't mandatory to use it then, it was just an extra thing you could use if you wanted to. It has been developed since then I'm happy to say, hehe. I also made the first Badge Generator GUI, the ATC callsigns, Tour of Sweden, Capitals of Europe tour, helped Gergely with several aircraft repaints, the divisions' pages that still are in use (EuroBusiness, EuroCargo and EuroHolidays), and probably something else. Let me tell you: it took a lot of work to earn that Medal of Honor.. ;D As I remember it you were pretty active back then too, maybe even in management?

A quick question for the management regarding the pro-pilot penalties.
I received the penalty in my first flight for overspeed above 250 kts below 10,000 ft in the PMDG 747. I think this penalty needs urgent review as the clean speed for a heavily laden 747 is above 250 IAS, in this case my clean climb speed below 10,000 was 268 IAS. It is well known that "heavy" aircraft are cleared to above their clean speed below 10,000ft even if that exceeds 250 IAS.
Any chance this could be sorted or i am going to get this penalty every flight as i guess will all pmdg users!!
Otherwise great first leg!!
Jim

Nice Magnus ! ;D I was a little confused, but now it is all clear, thx ;)

Jim, you can still set a speed restriction on the FMC, so the beast stay below 250 kts. I myself fly only at 230 until 10000. I used to fly it without VNAV, because it did not let sometimes to input the restrictions. Also it misscalculates some fixes sometimes, and can cause a 4500 fpm penalty too within 5 seconds. I like the safer way :P ...but generally you can fly with it below 250 kts ;)

True Robert but not very realistic. Would mean having flaps 1 or 5 all the way up to 10,000 ft ?
Can any of our experienced ATC members advise regarding clearing heavy traffic to speeds greater than 250 IAS below 10,000 ?
Cheers, Jim

Hi Jim,

The Flight Logger only gives you the penalty if you exceed 280kn. That's the maximum high speed approval beneath FL100.

Can anybody tell me where my flight has gone?
It does show up in the timetable but not in PP, and yes it's flown with PP on.
I've got the ACARS and flightlog saved if you want.
please help

cheers Niels,

After did the first leg, I think the freeware 744F is a bit slow in turns under autopilot. If you feel it too, change this parameter in the aircraft.CFG file:

[autopilot]
max_bank=20.0 ... to ... 25.0

Have fun ;)

Niels, can you remember when you logged the PIREP? Did it say it was successfully submitted? Because I had this problem too, and it was because of a short break in the internet connection half way through. When I logged the PIREP, I had to scroll down the window to get the big, red "Attention!" box - if I hadn't, I wouldn't have known that it couldn't be submitted. You still get the hours for it, though, which is why it appears in the timetable but not in PP.
