Himalaya Daredevil PP Event
« on: July 26, 2019, 10:14:19 am »
As of 12 August 2019 we have ourselves a challenging new PP Event  ;D

We will be flying in mountainous terrain, as the name already suggests. From the base camp at Katmandou, we’ll fly tourists, climbers, hikers, and all other sorts of mountaineering Daredevils to any remote strip in the area. We’re becoming Daredevils ourselves, as this involves high altitude, short field, surprising weather operations. It will take all your skills to find, and land your Twin Otter on those remote strips  :o

Practical tip: as there are some very short legs, some of them are grouped together within one time window. So watch the start and end date of the legs.
Since they are separate legs, they do need you to make a full stop landing with an engine shutdown for FL to be able to file the PIREP. Remember to start a new FL flight for every leg (or your PIREP will need to be manually approved -by me  ;)), because it has the same ID as the previous one. Not too much of a problem, but it might take a day or two to happen...)

Another practical tip: start practicing STOL with the DHC-6 already; it will come in handy  ;)

Thanks to Peter for supplying the event legs, and graphics!
