WOW! What an incredible improvement. The current version is functionally ideal but certainly a little reminiscent of MS-DOS programs in appearance. Can't wait to get this latest version whenever it is released.

Gah! Am I the only person in the world that honestly prefers the old version?

I mean, yes, the new one has a nice looking topo map, but the clean simplicity of the old one has so much going for it...

I have to say I'm with you on that Murray. The current version's map is pretty clear.

OK, now you've got me on-board Gergely.

It looks a whole lot more like an ATC client now, and real pretty with it too.

WOW! I love the whole information screen on the pilots and the new flight plan looks funky too. Some folks have obviously put many hours work into this project. Can't wait for it to go live! How do you get to hear about these things so far in advance Gergely?

Wish we could have something like that with our ACARS (like showing route taken by pilot etc) :P

Wow that looks great...think a visual system would really help. If like me your european geography is a bit patchy then it can sometimes be hard to mentaly plan a route that would give you continuos ATC - the visual system atleast allows you to see what geographical airspace is covered - cant wait !!

Hi Gergely,

Looks great now ;D

But what are the things like spotlights....are they highlighting the aircraft that are in the selected details place?

Thanks for your kind comments. :) Actually it's me who is making this software. :8

The 'spotlight' things are Friends (same as Selections in servinfo), if you selected to highlight them on map.

Wow! You are so talented! I think most people wouldn't have a clue where to start :P

And it is already a major improvment if you can have more than one a/c highlighted on the map ;D
The flightplan is also a great little feature...can't wait for a release (need any more beta testers ;);) )

Take care,

Ben,

This is doable in SI2 - I have a nasty habit of accidentally highlighting all EHM flights and GB ATC, as that's my default selection list.

Someone needs to look at the SI help for selections, me thinks... :) (Don't have SI installed at work, and I think my evil FW rules would prevent it working any how, otherwise I'd offer more explicit instructions...)

Hi Murray,

I have checked the help again since last time and can't find anything in there that would acheive this :[ . It seems to only mention the obvous things like setting up selections which you don't even need help for ;)

When I set up my selections (about a year ago now...wow...time flies) I did assume it would highlight them on the map - but I still found it incredibly useful :]

Gergely, where do you find the time. First EHM and now ServInfo. Great work! Have Microsoft not offered you a paid position developing FS2006 yet?

Then I'm surprised you haven't seen this in action (only works for flights, BTW): go into the "Selected Details [?]" tab, then click the map button (the globe with a magnifying glass on it). All flights in your selected details window will be highlighted. I'll grab a couple screenies an upload them once I get to work...

EDIT: Ben (and anyone else for that matter), I made a new topic to avoid bloating this one with further screenies...

Neither, I found it by accident one day and have used it often ever since...

And having just read the SI2 help myself, I see this feature doesn't get mentioned at all (which I find surprising...)
