Charts again

Hi to all Onlineflyers, today i have finished Leg 13 of the European Capital Tour. In the tour description i could find a lot of nice scenerys. But why is it not possible to download the necessary charts for each tour?? It would be much more easier to have the right charts for flying online. Otherwise it takes a lot of time to get the charts from IVAO or VATSIM.
So again to all who are involved for planning the tours. Please give more information to the onlineflyers. I think if there are more detailled information which the Company could deliver, we would have much more onlineflyers in the sky.
Please think about it. Or discuss it how we could find a god solution.

See you in the sky. Hardy EHM-1058

Hi Hardy,

Firstly if we hosted the charts on the EHM servers for you to download, then they will most likely be out of date pretty quickly, as it will be a lot of work to update all the packages (and obviously charts for most airports and areas are update regularly).
Also for legal reasons it is often not possible to provide charts for download by anyone bar the chart provider.

My idea is to collect a list of the sites containing charts for as many countries that we fly to as possible, but not for tours only, as a general info page so they are available for every flight in EHM. Here's a start maybe....

Australia http://www.airservices.gov.au/

Austria http://www.austrocontrol.co.at/

Belgium http://www.belgocontrol.be/

Canada http://www.navcanada.ca/navcanada.asp/

Czech Republic http://www.ans.cz/ais/defaulten.htm

Denmark http://www.slv.dk/

France http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/default_uk.htm

Germany http://www.dfs.de/

Iceland http://www.caa.is/

India http://www.dgca.nic.in/

Ireland http://www.iaa.ie/

Morocco http://www.onda.org.ma/

New Zealand http://www.ifis.airways.co.nz/

Norway http://www.avinor.no/

Portugal http://www.nav.pt/

Romania http://notam.caa.ro/

Hi Ben thank you for the information.  As you mentioned is the biggest problem to have everything updated. For this reason a site with links to get th charts for all destinations of EuroHarmony should be a god idea.
Thanks again

Yep, the UK AIP is totally up to date, they have all the current charts if you know where to look. There are even charts with weird names: 'Radar Vectoring Area' etc. I also noticed that there was something called an 'SRA RTR' Approach - can someone enlighten me?

Just to clarify for Chris (as I spoke to him earlier and he misunderstood) and possibly other people, those charts above are REAL WORLD, and so will very likely differ to what is in FS, especially older versions.

And as a further clarification...

If you want the "official" charts for the default FS airports scenery (not 3rd party addons airports!) you will want to get a copy of Jeppessen Simcharts (v2 for FS2002, v3 for FS2004)

Jeppessen create the SimCharts from the same data snapshot that they provide to MS, so for the default scenery the appropriate SimCharts product is "word of God". Oh, and their not cheap...

Google is my friend... :)

SRA = Surveillance Radar Approach
RTR = Remote Transmitter/Receiver

And I think I'm right in saying SRA approaches aren't modelled on IVAO/VATSIM (cause neither networks software is high enough resolution to do this sort of thing...)

How does it work? - the ATC have a special hi-res radar like the one they used to monitor the dangerous ILS31 at Kai tak (the mountains either side) and they say 'left a bit' 'right and a bit lower'? etc ;)

OK I have discovered a godsend for all people needing charts. Have known it for a while just forgot to tell you all. Sorry.

http://www.aeronauticalchartfinder.com/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=viewlink&cid=80

Just type in an ICAO code into the search box and some charts 'll come up. And it covers the whole world. A really great site.

Iain,

Great find... That's going on my online bookmarks page (why spend ages getting your browser bookmarks right, then having to do the same in IE, then starting all over again when you reformat your HD, when you can just build a web page with them all on...)

Right and just to add to the fight for up to date charts...

VATSIM have just released this resource that looks pretty good, Real world AIPs for many countries. Regisitration is unfortunately required for many of them but that's of couse free.
